[Q] RealVNC
When i try to use real vnc @ home or near the computer it works perfectly find but from a far away distance it won't work
Also tried it with Remote Desktop Mobile and still won't work In the server section i entered 192.168.*.*** But im thinking if im somewhere else an other computer will have that IP so how can I use Real VNC from a far away distance (20+ miles) Do i need to type in my static IP or something so it can single the rest out? |

Yes, you are correct about needing a static IP. Otherwise it changes when you access elsewhere or even after a system or router reboot. The guide above is pretty good about walking you through DynDNS setup, if you don't have a static IP. |

Thank you i'll work on it as soon as I get home

Re: [Q] RealVNC
Actually 192.168.*.* is a not an internet routable address. It is used internally behind routers but cannot be reached on the internet. You need your external IP and then you need to ensure that the port used by this app is set to forward to your computer by the router. The reason it worked when you were close was probably because you were using wifi on the same internal network, but when you went out of range then you switched to your data plan and were on an external routable address and couldn't connect.
