CorePlayer 2.0 version coming soon.

See: More info on CorePlayer 2.x

Personally speaking, I'm just not lookng forward to another app that requires yet another web account just to use its features.

I like how Kinoma implemented being able to install add-ons better. You go into the app and download whatever you want to add onto it. Your initial valid production registration gives you access, no specal new web account required. And things like settings are stored to the device instead of the web. I'm just not a fan of cloud dependence.

Re: CorePlayer 2.0 version coming soon.

I've had quite a lot of issues with CorePlayer 1.XX so far. It crashed just about everytime I tried playing a song with Japanese fonts or a song with album art and it gave me a lot of issues with video playback at first. I hope this is all fixed in 2.XX.

Re: CorePlayer 2.0 version coming soon.

I have not played any songs with Japanese fonts, but I've played plenty with album art. Never had any problem at all. Video playback has always been good for me also.

Are you sure the video was sized to work with a resolution that your device supports?

MKV support would be nice, but 1080p is not doable unless the device hardware supports that level of resolution. Hand held devices are usually way too small for 1080p. You'd need something the size of about a 17" laptop.

The desktop version of CorePlayer does support MKV and so any laptop/desktop with a monitor that supports 1080p would be able to handle MKV with full 1080p playback.

Yea, I've got it too.

They never post the updates on their own site, but as they say:

How do you get the update? Log into your reseller account at http://www.Mobihand.com (My Account at the top) and download the update. All other resellers will notify the users of the update availability.
Basically the easiest way to get updates is to look at the Download link in the e-mail sent when first buying the product.

The "Saving your settings" can read one of two ways for me on that "Required to use web login" business. If it's just a backup of my settings, well, frankly I reflash my ROM often enough that would actually be a pretty cool feature. If it's REQUIRED to just save the standalone player preferences between loads, well that would pretty much suck. Nothing like having your media player refuse to use your settings because you're in a low coverage area (like, say, a trans continental airliner).

I have been using CorePlayer for a while now on my various devices and love it. The addition of finger friendly controls will be great. Hopefully they can also put the HTC G-Sensor support in the app too, but not a deal breaker.

I see your point. I flash ROMs often too. And that's actually why I'm against it, even if it's just something to do after ROM flashes. Because I use Sashimi to configure everything and having it in a single file is much easier.

If I had to "login" to a site for every app configuration after a ROM flash to get the settings, that would be a real pain for all the apps I use. At the moment, I have their configurations in Sashimi and it's a quick copy of a file from my SD card.

I guess a version of Sashimi could be made, that pulls in all the app configurations from web sites, but currently I can flash and configure my device without a web connection. To me the web login is added hassle.

I know things are moving to the "cloud", but I'm going kicking and screaming :D :) .

I picked up coreplayer 1.3.5 yesterday also. It's been absolutely perfect. Nice to finally have the youtube feature work. I got my hands on a boatload of skins for it, but cant get any of them to work. Oh well :( But, in my 1 day of using this new version, i think its youtube playback is smoother than Kinoma or the standalone youtube app i have. I like it!!
