HTC Plus! - HTC Alternative Home Plugin

I ran across this over at XDA. I personally prefer the HTC Home Plug, but some may like this so I am posting it here. I haven't tried it myself, but it looks interesting. There may be some potential issues with this so do a backup first just in case and pay attention to the warnings of the author.

As found, this application was non-functional. HTCImgCodec.dll has been added (exists in some ROMs already) and registry settings have been changed to disable the Backlight Adjust function. For some reason when this function is enabled the device hangs during boot and a hard reset is required to fix. You have been warned. DO NOT ENABLE BACKLIGHT ADJUST.

This plugin is easily customisable. The layout is stored entirely as bmp images under \Windows\HTCPlus. And all the programs chosen can be modified under HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts.

It loaded fine on my 6700. Ill play around and see if every thing works :D It adds a new tab in the Today settings. I wished it migrated all the HTC today plug-in settings into that tab. It doesnt though.

I am stupid sometimes :D

I removed the HTC today plug-in and left the PLUS on there. Nice clean look. I like it. I wished it had a setting to pop-up a small weather window. I might try that weather plug in someone added here a couple days ago. Its small and clean.

Thanks

I think the htc plus! plugin works rather well. My only dislike about it is that I can't set it under the htc home plugin. (I ditched the clock and other info and was using it for battery status and programs).

HKLM > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Today > Items > HTC Plus

Change Type from '5' to '4' and it will show up as an Moveable plugin

Hope this helps!

You can change the order. Using a registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Plugin you want to Change"\Order

Change the "Order" to meet your needs. You can also lock or unlock a plugin from scrolling using the "Type" registry field.

Type
5=locked
4=unlock

Sweet deal thanks a lot guys :)

Works great using both htc plugins.

I really like this plugin, but the refresh problems I have been experiancing are driving me nuts. Hopefully it will get resolved, and a tweak to add voicemail can be done. :)

This seems more like HTC Minus! to me.
No where near the full features of the HTC Home Plugin.
IMHO anyway...
