best "free" GPS

since I can't afford one of the paid GPS's anytime soon, just wondering what some of you think is the best free gps system?

I've tried Amaze which is "ok" but not great, google maps is pretty good if you need something basic also, but is there anything else out there?

Amaze to me is pretty good for a "Free" turn by turn gps software. I think it might be the only talking turn by turn which is "free". Sure it might not be "great", but for $0 it is a no brainer.

If you want "Great" .....you pretty much need to cough up the $$$$$$$
