Problems with HTC Touch, Plz help!

Guys, sorry if I am posting this in a wrong section. I need help.
Everything was working just fine untill I installed "pocket twit" on my HTC Touch. It was very slow and would choke all the time, so I uninstalled it.

Even after uninstalling, it is choking. I make 1 phone call or receive 1..and then its completely choked. I have to hard-reset as nothing on the screen allows me to do anything. I have been going to task manager right after restart and killing active sync all the time. There's nothing else active.

Plz help.. I appreciate ur guidance in advance.
Thanks a lot.

Its ok glad to help. No it won't wipe any data from your phone what the program do to explain it simple its like doing a soft reset without soft resetting your phone and having it boot back up. So try that and report back with your findings and can a mod move this to the touch pro forum for better helping the OP out with there problem ;) TIA

I installed the program and launched it. By default it does a level 1 clean..so I did that...and I am seeing its performing better already. I am still observing it... if it works fine, I'll be happy and thanks to you. If not.. I will proceed to do as you said..level3..and come back with my results.

Once again, thank you very much.
Cheers!

Your welcome but try level 2 before level 3 that could suit you better. I think that's the one everyone use is level 2 clean and once again no problem

Nope! even level 3 clean up hasnt solved it. It still locks up. And I have to restart! And even when I retsart... it takes a longgggggg time for it become normal. It just lags horribly.

All this started with pocket twit app. As I said I have already uninstalled it.. deleted the prog dir... also checked the start-up.. nothing there.

What next!
Thanks again.

I would suggest trying a program like memmaid or something similar that will show all running processes. That way you can see whats running and halt/end things one by one. You've probably got something in your registry that didn't uninstall properly. I would also suggest downloading phm regeditor it's free. Use the search/find function and look for any remaining remnants of the twitter app you got rid of. Good Luck!

Ok guys... I have a Bigger problem now. I installed memmaid..and used the phm registry cleaner. Well in the process I killed activesync..and the phone choking has gotten worse.

At this point all I wanna do is reformat the phone. BUT I cant get activesync to work at all. Tried everything. Different ports...computers..re-installing aactivesync on PC... initiating the connection w/ PC from the phone..NOTHING works! Seems I killed it in the registry somewhere and now PHM reg cleaner wont even help because it wants the phone to be connected to the PC. So I am stuck!

Pleaseeeeee help me w/ the problem of activesync so I cn go ahead and re-install windows6.1 again.

Thanks again.

Have you tried just a plain hard reset? I mean back up your contacts and go for it seems like your phone is really jacked up :(

Did you hook your phone up to your pc/laptop n see if it worked and might be a dumb question but do you have windows mobile device center installed on ur pc/laptop?

I hooked the mobile to my PC and laptop-both. It would always recognize the mobile because I had activesync 4.5 installed and thats how I would copy the progs. But it doesnt now... because I remember disabling activesync when I was messing with PHM reg cleaner.

I dont have the windows mobile device center? Pardon my ignorance here pls.. actually I havent come across that. Also..I tried deleting the "Mobile device" from my device manager on PC..and restarting...just incase it would establish the connection..but nope.

What shld I try?
Thanks and I really appreciate u trying to help me here.

If you bought your tp new in the box the windows mobile device center disc should have came with it. Which is what the phone runs best ith activesync. So I say look in the box n see if you see it if not go to the microsoft website type in windows mobile device center in the search box and download it to your pc/laptop

Yea, it is an HTC touch. Yes, it came with a disc, thats what I have been using to install activesync 4.5 from. It installs the activesync on the PC, but it doesnt detect the phone when connected. No matter what I try. Hard resets... initiating connection from phone.. different PC / laptop... nothing. It just wont detect the phone.

There is nothing called "windows mobile center" on it. It starts up.. allows to install "quick guide, activesync, msoffice trial".. thats it. Unless this entire package is called "windows mobile center".

Re: Problems with HTC Touch, Plz help!

Ok here's what I found out for activesync!
In memmaid...there r different types of notifications and activesync needs them on (notification queue). It is under event-based-notifications.

In the process of resolving my choking/lagging on the phone..I had turned them off. Hence I couldnt get to connect my PPC to PC using activesync. I turned them back on again and tried connecting ... bingo! It detected the phone.

Well... that has nothing to do with why my phone's all messed up and choking so bad..but..atleast I can go ahead and re-format it tonight.

Thanks a lot for helping me. Hope my 2 cents worth of figuring this activesync issue helps others.

Cheers!
