BLUETOOTH "Locate" function for phone
 

Ok, we've all done it.. Where did I put my phone!!!!!!


I was looking into an added function for voice command... The implementation would require you to have a connected BT headset for one mode of operation, and here is how it would work...

Press the button on your headset to activate voice command

An added command called "locate" would be added.

upon saying locate, the phone would kick on max volume & sound an alarm (of the users choice) so you could find what pile of clothes you hid it under.


The second implementation would use texting the phone. This would use some of the same features within Mobile Justice ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/mjustice/ ) but in addition to GPS notification, a feature to again, kick volume to max on the phone & sound an alarm for location purposes.




I think this would be something extremely useful, since where we lose our phones we don't always have GPS availability, or another GPS device to locate where our phone is. Most of the time I lose mine in a pile of clothes or something & it's annoying trying to find it when I have the ringer silenced!

That's a cool idea....unless your battery is dead or your bluetooth is in the pocket with your phone (guilty!!)

I like it though, are you working on it? Can it be done?

I have done almost what you're trying to do using the "Play" voice command.
Pressed my headset to activate MSVC, said 'Play All" to start my music, found my phone.

I also think there is a "Set Ringer High" command. Can you call yourself from MSVC? I will check as soon as my headset charges.

You cant call yourself because it dials you straight into voicemail. haha.

The play voice command will work, as long as you have the Set Speaker or Ringer High on. PLUS, you have to be within 30 feet, if youre in multiple rooms, thats a hassle when it comes to searching every room if your in a 2 story house. Then again, I can have my phone connected to my Jabra Dogtag upstairs and use my bluetooth downstairs pretty much anywhere. Hm, lets look into this!

im down to test it out if anyone comes up with it haha

i want to get the dogtag so bad!! haha
but i never save enough...i spend mah money too quickk...girls are expensive :angry7: hahaha

manage, manage, manage. Got a g/f of 1.5 years and still manage to make enough bank to put a dual exhaust and CAI kit in my car, and still pay for her!
