OpMon - Script to change operator name
 

Per darktiger's request, I whipped up a little MortScript package with installer to let you easily set a custom operator name and the interval in which the script will check to make sure your operator name is set. It's a two-part MortScript, opmon is the config GUI and opset is the background process which will run on first load and at system startup to ensure your custom name "sticks".

Installation & Usage

1. Download the zip file below and extract the CAB installer.
2. Run the CAB on your device to install.
3. Launch the config GUI by going to Start -> Programs -> OpMon.
4. Set your name and delay, then exit to apply the changes.


This has only been tested on my Mogul, but there is nothing device specific in the script, so it should work on almost any phone.

Hey, just tested out ur script and it works just fine. I take it that it doesn't stick after a soft reset?

Actually the Current Operator Name reg key doesn't stick at all. It's active when you are connected to your carrier, but disappears if you turn off the radio in your phone. That's why I included a background process with a refresh interval time that start's up with the device, so your custom name will be reapplied even if you soft reset or turn your radio off/on.

BTW, I OEMed it and you can set it up to boot with your custom name and you never even need to run the app.

Nice...but for some reason it only shows on my "phone" screen and not on my "today" screen.

ya i can't get it to work either.I got it installed.But when i run set name.then exit.it just keeps opening.even after i close.

how do you force the radio to stop getting sprint carrier

You can use QPST to edit the banner, as an option.

Is there a way to change the START text with this app? I thought there was, but only changes operator name which I already have changed via the Personalize App a couple threads above this one. I have heard much about Opmon app, it is a very nice app that a lot of people r using! Good work on this one bro. Someone mentioned the only way to change the START text is via Reg Edit, is that true or can we use an app such as this to do so as well? Any info on this would be much appreciated, and sorry if this isn't the correct thread I'm not trying to jump topics here. Future thanks!!

Is there a way to "Uninstall" this .cab? It is causing a white rectangular box to appear between the Hours:Minutes on both the stock clock and any Flip clocks. It also skews the Sprint Logo to the far left on the three devices I've installed it on (All Sprint Touch Pro 2's) and it does not appear in "Remove Programs" to uninstall.

Everytime I set my name, delay seconds and phone shuts off it goes back to the word sprint. Can you help me?
