I say the fastest attractive IM app i used

You can also send video pics and files and have all the IMs including myspace and facebook

The fastest IM program i used is Slick but it looks too plain

Con let me think ... Sometime it acts up maybe its my phone idk but beside that no

thanks bro.

Re: New Nimbuzz Version 1.20

I really want to be able to run an IM app in the background to be "available" to my contacts and wake up when I get a message. This kind of act seems a little too harsh on the battery.. which means if I have this app running in the background it will last your battery for a few hours.

Having said that, I use Slick which is not so great in the looks department but seems to keep my battery up for alteast a little longer than the other popular ones.

Is anyone else having a problem logging on to facebook? It keeps saying username/password invalid but I know it's right. Also I noticed there is no popup notification like Palringo and the sounds it plays aren't very loud.

Re: New Nimbuzz Version 1.20

I'm having an odd problem. As soon as I log into Nimbuzz my notifications (sounds, ringtones, etc..) go through the earpiece rather than the speaker... Closing Nimbuzz doesn't resolve this, I actually need to do a soft reset, and I'm fine...... until I log into Nimbuzz again..

I really like the app, and would like to use it, so if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

-Corey

By the way, I'm on SSK 2.1.1 WinMo V 6.5

I put up Slick to the test, by running it at idle, a little Facebooking via app and a couple other small things and it went from 100% to 50% in 4 hours. Sounds normal to you?

I will run a similar test after your inputs with Nimbuzz.

No one else is having problems with Nimbuzz pushing all notifications to the earpiece rather than the external speaker?

Argh, lol...

Interesting privacy policy they've got (http://www.nimbuzz.com/en/legal):

Code:

2. WHAT INFORMATION DOES NIMBUZZ COLLECT?

 Nimbuzz may gather and process information about you, including (but not limited to) information in the following categories:
 (a) Identification data (name, address, telephone, email address etc.);
 (b) Profile information (e.g. age, sex, country of residence etc.) (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR USER PROFILE – please see article 6 of this Privacy Statement);
 (c) Electronic identification data (addresses IP, cookies, etc.);
 (d) Survey result and usage information;
 (e) Video and sound recordings;
 (f) List of your contacts;
 (g) Traffic data (data processed for the purpose of the conveyance of communications or the billing thereof, including, but not limited to, the duration of the call, the number calling and the number called, etc.).

"List of your contacts", "Video and sound recordings" - WTF?? :protest:

Palringo policy seems much more sane (http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/privacy-policy):

Code:

Information

 We limit the required personal information to those details required to offer an effective service, but give you the opportunity to supply further information that will be useful to us in better adapting the service to your needs.
  • Personal Information: In addition to email and phone details, after you register you have the option to provide us with personal information which may include (but may not necessarily be limited to) your gender, age group, country, your likes/dislikes and other personal preferences. We use this information to deliver the service and communicate with you effectively and to learn about our customer base through abstract statistics (e.g. percentage of female users aged 18-22).

  • Usage History: We collect information on usage of our service including details like number of messages sent, length of connection and usage of the offline messaging facility. This information is important as it allows us to monitor the performance and usage of the system.

  • Support: If interested, you have the option to submit bug reports, feature requests, and other feedback to our development team. These and similar services in the future may require us to maintain your account name and password.

  • Email Address: We ask for your email address in order to send you download instructions and to keep you updated of our status.

Im just waitng for Nimbuzz 2.0 too come out

It looks great on symbian phones

coreyoli 06-27-2009 10:30 PM

Re: New Nimbuzz Version 1.20

Well, here's where I'm at...

Nimbuzz pushes all notification sounds to the earpiece
Palringo no longer connects (tries then sits at reconnect pending)

I've done multiple soft and hard resets, and have even flashed to multiple ROMs, both problems still exist...

So... Anyone have any ideas on how to fix either of these issues or a different all inclusive app?

Thanks,

-Corey

Have you tried the new IM+?

IM Push mode: send and receive instant messages as emails when IM+ is not running or connection is lost.
Never liked the IM+ interface and I only need AIM2TXT but this could be useful for other services.

On a side note, I read that beejive for BB is getting a push service too. Too bad the WM version is no longer developed, it's been my favorite client so far :(

you have got to be kidding! the notification on nimbuzz sucks! no popups, no vibration, and the audio is very quiet and just a single beep that you never hear. nice program other than that though lol.
