App restore

is there a program, that say you did a hard reset, would restore all the program you had installed prior to the HR?

That's no bueno.
You'll run into corruption/problems/etc.
I don't recommend doing that.

Well it has always worked perfectly for me assuming your using the backup on the same rom. Unless your trying to use the backup on a different rom, you shouldnt have a problem.

Yes, Spb will basically take a snapshot of your phone including settings, email, apps, well everything... And restore it after a hard reset. The only drawback would be when you wanted to flash to a different rom, for that you would need to use something like Sashimi, or PIM backup.

NOOOOOO!!! DONT DO THAT!!
THAT IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU REFLASH THE ROM THAT YOU MADE THAT "SNAPSHOT" ON!!!
YOU WILL MESS THINGS UP AND HAVE PROBLEMS IN THE LONG RUN IF NOT RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING!!!!
yes, that did warrant caps!

Re: App restore

I've used Sprite Backup to restore to the same ROM and to restore to different ROMs. It has some nice options to allow you to be selective in what you restore (or back up).
The only thing I wouldn't recommend is trying to restore across entirely different OS's- for instance, don't try to restore from WM6.1 to WM6.5.

you shouldn't restore anything from a different rom period
with the only exceptions of contacts and other PIM info(texts/email/etc).

Jeez, your trying to confuse people here. Get some rest and re-read the posts. I think its almost common sense that you cant take a restore and put it onto different rom. Its like saying Im going to to take a backup of XP and restore it after changing to Vista.](*,)

BUT, i am definitely crossing my fingers for someone to get the over the air rom updates working properly, so none of this would be an issue!!

I do it all the time, no problem, switching between 6.1 & 6.5 roms and upgrading ROMs. Im not discounting that one of these days I might have a problem, but SPBBackup has a ROM upgrade mode that works great
