Outlook Cleaner is a program for your Windows Mobile 5.0+ phone that helps you remove duplicate and redundant contacts, appointments, and tasks.

How it works
Cleaning works like this:
1) Scan the Outlook database, looking for duplicate items.
2) Exact duplicates are deleted.
3) Near-duplicates are displayed for manual merging/removal.
4) You go through the sets of near-duplicates, where you can see all the values which are different, and choose to keep, delete, or merge items.

Contacts with the same "FileAs" property are compared against each other, except for the ItemId and Picture properties.
Appointments with the same "Subject" and similar start/end times are compared against each other.
Tasks with the same "Subject" and similar start/end dates are compared against each other.

looks great.....is there anyway calendar and tasks can be added in a future version? They too get duplicated if synced with Outlook....just a suggestion.

Yeah, I can actually reuse most of the code, so it shouldn't be hard to do a version for calendar appointments and tasks ( or heck to put it all in the same app ).

That will be great...let me know if u need someone to help test....im always flashing my rom which causes me to resync and get duplicate everyting on my home computer (since i restore using PIMbackup).....cant wait to see it! :headbang:

Now this app will only affect your phone's outlook (and thus whatever exchange account it's synched to), and won't affect desktop outlook, unless your desktop outlook is also connected to the same exchange account.

Thats cool, i have a program that gets rid of the duplicates from Outlook on my desjtop.....just couldnt find something that did it correctly for my ppc.

It worked great for me, it found 2 duplicates in 347 contacts and deleted. Only thing I regret is not having this before, whats headaches in the past with duplicating on syncs uffff. Nice app.

I'm not able to open the application, it throws exception.

Exception:

An Unexpected error has occurred in ContactCleaner.exe

please help me i got lot of duplicate contacts in my WM [Using O2 Atom life-WM 6.5v]

I saw this error in 0.95, and thought I fixed it in 0.96 - can you check which version you are using?

Also, what versions are your WM, .NET?
