Is this another US-only service/program or does it work internationally?
Google Maps or Bing positioning without GPS do not work in Germany - at least on my phone.

This is international software and works anywhere. People don't normally use it for gps software but it can be. They use it to log wifi and cell towers to make extra money.

yup, but there have been many times when live seach or google maps could not properly locate an address, but navizon did. also the paid version lets you save upto 512mb of map tiles on sd for offline viewing. :)
