I need a good calendar

I just dont like the builtin calendar, it always resets to week view.
I always prefer the month view.

I want something that looks better and cleaner, and i can easily mark tasks on a day and have a visual icon on the day to let me know something important is for that day.

can anyone recommend me something?
I dont use today plugins, so thats out of the question.

AgendaOne is really fantastic.

Should do all you want but it is not a "super" calendar with 9 billion options, but has way more than the default. Plus it's fast and nice looking.

I agree with with Malatesta about AgendaOne.

If you are looking for one with many bells and whistles, check out PocketInformant:

I like todayagenda also, but there is one thing driving me crazy. It takes a long time for the app to refresh well new appts/tasks are added or modified. I can't seem to figure out why such a delay and I haven't been able to find a way to contact the developer.

Any ideas?

+1 for TodayAgenda. Have never had any problems with it refreshing though. Hmmmm..

I think the OP was referring to PIM replacements, but as for Today plugins, TodayAgenda works very well. I prefer PocketBreeze for my Today plugin, but again it is not free.

I loaded Agenda One, and it worked great. It's a shame you can't get it to dial an extension though.

for cryin out loud, the OP said he doesn't like plugins...

There's only one free one I know of, and it's great, except you have to guess a little at the menus. Its written in japanese and it seems to be missing american fonts for the menus.

Basic funcionality-wise it kicks a$$..

What about Super Calendar by ScaryBear Software? It's a simple calendar program that doesn't use a lot of memory and uses the regular calendar database. I'm not sure if it reserts the view or not when you exit and open it up again.

OK, that link is now dead due 2 new website host?

So the calendar prog I think is this one:

Tukimi calendar
Version 1.0.6
Http://homepage2.nifty.com/kensin/

My question is there any caendar program that can "look" like this one.
It is very similar to the Casio BE300 that I loved.

I have a Mogul and every time I changed the view to calendar, it would automatically change itself back to agenda view. What I realised that if I changed it by steps it would stay the same.. meaning.. it's (by defaut) in agenda mode.. go to options and change it to the next one down (day).. then ok... it should be on day view now... then repeat the steps but choose the NEXT one down, week.. then ok.. and so on and the month will be the main screen when you go to calendar

Scarybear's supercalendar kind of looks like what i see in that pic. I've used tried it before it found it to be a great calendar substitute.

Another vote for Agenda Fusion as well. Although, I won a copy of Pocket Informant, we'll have to see which one I end liking better.

Do any of these programs allow you to go into a contact then create a new appointment? When the new appointment is created does it show the contact information in the appointment? I'm new the PPC and don't have a handle on the use of calendar programs yet.TIA

droeun 09-22-2007 01:11 PM

You can change the default view by clicking menu ---> tools ---> options and select the drop down for start in. I heard pocket informant was a nice alternative but have never tried it.

Re: I need a good calendar

ive been looking for a good one too with the same options. Ive got a newb question. I am looking at PI8 and todayagenda 1.1. I dont understand the difference between a program and plug in. I would assume that you would use one or the other, but ive seen people saying they use both together. that doesnt make sense to me how that works, could anybody please explain what the diff would be and why i would want both running? TIA
