Wanted - MP3/Music Store software for windows mobile

After several days of searching I have been unable to find what should be a very popular item. A Windows Mobile based app that lets you download mp3s directly to your device from a major online music store.

Either I am just not typing in the right keywords or I have discovered a huge niche market.

I am willing to pay for music but I don't want to have to go home to my pc to purchase and then sync them.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Richard

If you are on sprint there is the sprint music store. You can do exactly what you are asking to do. It will add your purchases to your phone bill.

Sorry for the confusion. I am looking for an application for windows mobile that will do this. These suggestions are good but they are browser based.

they knew what you meant.
But as far as I know there's no app that does this.

Unless you want to download them using torrents,
then you can use a torrent program.
But there's now specific app to download music through.

Maybe because it's already easy to do with a good Web browser? I'm using Opera on my Sprint Touch (Vogue) to download an Amazon MP3 purchase on my phone as I type this on desktop PC. In the time it took to type this, the tune D/L'd and is now playing--no problem. Album art shows too, even though I only wanted one track. I see no need for a dedicated app.

An app would be easier for MOST of the market. Like I can think of my wife as an example.... she's not going to go to amazon on her phone, login, and put in her info through opera. She would only do this if she had an app.

Depends on who you are and how much "work" you mind doing.

Like I said, if you have a sprint phone it has a dedicated app. called sprint music store and if you just click on it, it launches and goes to the store. You can search by artist, title, category or just browse the popular titles.

It isn't easier to use a browser. Just the zooming in and out and panning to the login box is annoying enough. Having an app is like the difference between viewing your mail in Outlook vs webmail in Opera. It's like night and day.

I must admit I have not tried it. I am using a custom Rom and have lost the icon. i have searched for a CAB but every search I have found states that the Sprint Music store is really a link that opens in the browser.

If you can tell me where the cab is then I would love to try it.

The other thing I have heard about the sprint music store is that the mp3s are digitally licensed to your device. I am willing to pay extra for an unprotected mp3.

I'd feel as adamant as nano if I'd ever suc.. 'er, I mean, actually spent money on what Sprint's music store sells. Something about it doesn't smell right, never did. Thanks mainly to comments on this forum, especially difficulty playing Sprint purchased songs after ROM flash, etc., no thanks. I'll stick with Amazon's HQ VBR DRM-free MP3s.

A kind of cool app is Didiom. You set it up on your pc if you have itune or what ever then load it on you ppc and you can stream to your phone. They also have music you can buy most of which I don't know the artist but you can get your itunes library streamed to you phone . . .
