Public Minimap of your location via phone GPS?
 

Is it possible to have like a little minimap/program that you can show to friends and family of your phone's location?

The best example I can think of is facebook or myspace for instance. You take the integreating link and put it on your profile. Before you leave on vacation or something, you activate the GPS via your touch pro that is connected to that server with the minimap and people can see where you're at.

Ofcourse it does sound a little creepy if you made it 100% public.. But if you disabled the program on your phone for that satillite to stop revealing your location that would be also cool and more private...

It's just something to show your friends and family while you're out for the day, so they know where you're at without bothering you via calling and/or texting.


I'm sure this is possible since there are programs out there that allow you track your cell phone in-case it gets stolen... So how would you make that tracker public and viewable on say a profile/blog/personal website online?

Google maps allows tracking of friends and family.

Yes, but could I get a integration link to post on my profile for others to view?

Wow.. looks like it does... Google Latitude can now be viewed on the PC and not just mobile!
