App to trap Telnet Hacker ? Is it Sprint?

:disgust:My Mogul connected via usb tether to my xp computer with Zone alarm has been blocking ftp and telnet sessions from someone...I have disabled server service in control panel/services as I am told telnet depends on this...Is this sprint? should I be concerned? Is there an app to track or trap, for my phone or Computer? Thanks!

Zone alarm should be able to tell you the source IP address of those connection attempts. You'll want to do a "whois" lookup on that IP from http://network-tools.com/

That will give you the domain that owns that IP. You can contact them to report the abuse.

Honestly that's really nothing.

Windows does not even have FTP or Telnet servers built-in.

They're just random computers blindly trying to connect to random IP addresses.

You don't get these things on your home network because your router is dropping the traffic.

By the way, Zone Alarm is for n00bs :p

Russian Federation and Italy! for some reason I thought someone was hacking the cell signal like as in wifi style.

One time zone alarm detected a windows process as a virus and I deleted it and I had to rebuild the whoe frickin machine :disgust:. Needless to say I am Starting to make acronis backups now. I like the suite way better than symantic or mcaffee, If you can tell me a suite I can get for 9.95 and 500 free buiz card's let me know.

If you insist on using a virus scanner, try avast home edition, its free, lightweight and unobtrusive. Avast combined with a little common sense and spybot scans every so often should keep you free and clear.
