Looking for PPC Metal Detector?
 

Ok the G1 has this new program that is a Metal Detector. Can we get this to are PPC's?

LOL. I'll pass. It would have no real world use b/c the detector needs the item to be right next to the phone.

I would use this program everyday seeing how I use a Metal Detector almost everyday. I'm a land surveyor I'm always looking for old monuments which are sometimes metal pipes and metal pins plus concrete bounds that have metal rebars that you can find with a normal detector. When i'm in the field everyday i'm not always prepared when I come across a property and i'm not near my truck for equipment but have my phone in my pocket.

The G1 has a compass so it uses the magnetic sensor for the program.

its probably accelerometer based and they lean it towards metal when it touches

There could be a way to throw it in with the magnetic stylus?
