Looking for a free SMS plain text or CSV backup
 
First, I have been lurking here for awhile and you guys rock.:headbang:


Now, down to business - I am looking for a simple & FREE way to take my SMS messages off my phone a format I can actually do something with. ](*,)


Anybody heard of anything?

Have you looked at this. It backs up your stuff to the web and you can look at it all and edit it on there website. https://sn1-p2.myphone.microsoft.com...t.po?mkt=en-US

Thanks for the quick link, but it looks invite only.... and my windows live id is...inactive. lol

I did some searching for you, and found this thread:

Looks like there is a program called SMS Backup. You could also use PPCPImbackup which I know is free, instructions are in the thread.

PowerSMS is the program I would use to do that, its maybe $10-$20, can't remember, but it exports them to CSV format which is easily read in tons of programs like Excel.

Not invite only. You just have to go on a waiting list. It's pretty quick though, considering how popular it's becoming. Usually less then a couple days, but could be a couple hours.

I know and love PPCPImBackup, while I have used it to pull small amounts of data I couldn't get anything large scale.

Works as advertised, its too bad it doesn't play nice with Excel.
