FlobalShell

After seeing the different Forums (PPCGeeks, XDA, SPB Club), Threads (MightyMike, Juicy, SPB Mobile Shell 3.0, Show Me Your Shell), and Discussions on interfaces (TF3D2, WM 6.5, SPB Mobile Shell Lifestyle Professional Widget port) I have decided to start this thread to see what PPCGeeks can come up with. I know this will spread to the rest of the Forum Sphere but I feel that this will start here.

So with that said, here is the idea, please comment and tell me what is good and bad.

Many people like the features of TF3D/TF3D2, MS3, and WM6.5.

Currently I am using WM 6.5 as a base OS (MR5) with MS3 (Purchased) and TF3D (TF3D Detacher - to switch between MS3 and TF3D).

Anyways, From what I have seen with the recent enhancements of MS3 (notably the ability to take Professional Layout items, turn them into widgets and port them to the Lifestyle layout to allow Professional feel on the Lifestyle Home Screen), I feel that we as a community can also get some of the TF3D screens either ported over, or recreated as lifestyle screens within MS3.

Some good examples would be:

1. Text Message preview screen from TF3D to preview messages without opening the text.
2. Email preview screen from TF3D to preview email without opening.
3. Internet Page for Favorites and such
4. Pictures and video clips for picture preview
5. Music player
6. etc... you get the point

I know this would be a big project but I dont think it is impossible.

I will reserve the first two posts for myself because I am starting this, and will post any major advances here. Please check the SPB, XDA and other Threads in PPCG to get your info and see what we can generate.

Here is a Thread at XDA with the Professional Mode Widgets in Lifestyle Screen (I think they are still working on VGA version):

Here is a Thread at SPB Club called Show Me your Shell (I think mostly the creativity is happening at XDA and spilling into the SPB forum):

Here is the Main SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 Thread att PPCGeeks:

Are the bottom sliders going to be on it too. How would you keep the bottom slider from interfering with the SPB bottom menu?

I don't think there's a point in "porting" tf3d over. SPB said they are working on more widgets that will address some things you listed. Plus they are releasing an SDK... So once that is out I'm sure we will see some verrrryyyy interesting things from PPC Geeks.

Yes, but at their current rate of customer service, customer interaction, customer feedback - it just might take them a little too long. Besiders, this project will take the good from every software and put it together.
