[Update 9/8] Shopping Cart v5.1 (shopping list/tasks manager) (VGA/QVGA)

1 Attachment(s)
Found this over at xda. Although it's a great shopping list app, I'm actually using it as my tasks manager. Pretty cool app, runs very smooth check it out.

Quoted from the developer at the xda thread:
Quote:

A while back I wrote a very basic utility where I could write a shopping list and use it on my phone to go shopping with rather than taking a piece of paper and a pen with me. I got tired of forgetting stuff LOL! I use it every time I go to the store. I just thought I would share it with you all.
http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/5749/screen03.jpg http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/4661/screen02m.jpg

Information:
  • You no longer need to uninstall previous version(s) before installing the latest version!
  • If you have AppToDate you can use that to update the application to the latest version!
  • This requires .NET compact flash 3.5!
  • This supports Windows Mobile 6, 6.1 and 6.5.
  • Supported resolutions are 240x320, 320x320, 240x400, 480x640 and 480x800 in both portrait and landscape modes.
Version 5.1:

New features:
  • Save As menu option for new lists.
  • New setting to save a new list automatically.
  • New option under Settings/General/SIP. Show automatically when entering: Enabled, Enabled in Portrait Only, Disabled.
Fixes:
  • Exporting all marked items of a master list to a regular list doesn't work when using "mark all items".
  • Exiting from the master list without saving or anything says that the user tried to save the masterlist as a regular list.
  • Various errors with save dialogs not appearing and files not being saved.

Version 5.0:

NOTE: You will have to uninstall the previous version because of the name change! Otherwise you will have both applications installed!

New Features:

  • Landscape for all supported resolutions. This is currently only within the main application screen, not the settings screen, save/open screens, etc.
  • New initial GUI upon start of application (enabled or disabled by a setting)- a "home" screen with more intuitive quick-launch buttons to access application features.
  • New option on long-press-hold over an item - copy item text to input field.
  • Language files included have been updated with the new entry above and need to be translated. When you do, please upload them to this thread.
  • A new setting to prompt a user to overwrite an existing saved cart rather than just doing it.
  • Application will be renamed to "Digicast Solutions' Shopping Cart" from "cRaCK*****'s Shopping Cart"

Fixes:

  • Intermittent application errors / crashes when deleting / duplicating items / opening and closing SIP.
  • Application not remembering last opened list.
  • Saving a list sometimes doesn't actually save it. This is fixed.
  • I am trying to prevent where a list of items scrolls back to the top if you are scrolled down and click an item.

Past version history can be found here.

You can tap on a item, which will then strikthrough the text marking it complete. However, this action can be toggled and the strikethrough can be undone. (Note: this feature is no longer present in 3.0, but will be back in future releases)

It was built on a Touch HD, but I can confirm it to work on the Touch Pro as well. There was also a report of it working on a QVGA device, but the spacing was slightly off, not bad though, might even would prefer it that way.

The name of this app (as well as the developer) has now been changed to Digicast Solutions'

HandyShopper, a freeware app that's been out for years, is stable and more feature-packed. It's still being maintained and updated - the most recent version is 19 Jan 09. There's an active community of users who've put it to all sorts of interesting uses.

Check it out at http://chrisant.home.comcast.net/~chrisant/hs3/hs3.htm.

version 2.1 out
I was trying to wait to update the op with v2.2 that was supposedly going to be released today. Although the day isn't over yet, I didn't want my post to lag behind any further.

Enjoy.

Re: [Update 5/6] Shopping Cart v2.1 (shopping list/tasks manager)

I wish it had the option to keep all the items in some type of order. like alphabetical order or by category.
And it always autosaved. and auto opened the .txt file.
besides that really cool program so far.

It's not yet VGA compatible (he thought Touch HD is VGA).

It was always VGA compatible, it was QVGA that wasn't supported, which is now fixed in v3.1.

2.1 was OK, but 3.0 was not VGA compatible, screen was all messy on my Touch Pro, even in settings you could not change anything, because lower part was not displayed.

BlackNeo is right. I was the one at XDA that first mentioned it didnt work on my Diamond. Then he found out what VGA really is and now 3.1 is working great! Thanks again GoodGets for mentioning it here a month ago or I probably would of never found it over there. This is one of my new favorite apps! :headbang:

How great is this!!!? :)
In one day, I can go from my usual seat-of-pants shopping and organization to having THREE organizational options (in this thread) to pick from. Looks like I will be getting into No Excuses territory.

It's at the bottom of the first post, right near the download. I guess you just made an oversight.

The addition of landscape support is one of the upcoming features for future releases.

Admittedly I haven't thoroughly tested it yet, but it does load for me redd. I even tried in it rapid succession (opening/closing/opening/etc) trying to reproduce this error. Loads fine for me, but I did uninstall the previous version before I installed this one. Maybe that did it? idk

Give that a try redd, maybe even soft reset after the uninstalls, see if that works for ya. Hope ya get it figured out.

I'm really glad the developer changed his name to something less ghetto :)This is a pretty good app and his marketing potential should open up considerably (if he decides to go commercial with it).
