wmTorrent

wmTorrent - Torrent client for Windows Mobile - released in new version and tested
April 17, 2009 [General] | By Edward J. R.

We have tested it:

.... and it works very well! We have downloaded .torrent file from legaltorrents.com, opened this file with wmTorrent inside of Windows Mobile phone, and downloaded it with this program, and the file has been downloaded and after that this program even started seeding this file (i.e. providing this file to other torrent users).

Bit Torrents are used also for transmission of legal files - to accelerate downloads of files and to decrease costs of distribution - so this program might be used also to deliver many legal files to Windows Mobile.

More info from the vendor (note: it looks like this torrent client has everything what torrent clients for PC have!):

Adisasta, solution provider for mobile people, announces the release of WinMobile Torrent v.3 (wmTorrent v.3) for Windows Mobile. wmTorrent v.3 supports Windows Mobile Professional, Classic or Standard in all display modes.

This latest version of wmTorrent boasts many new features and enhancements. In addition to the standard torrent functions supported in the previous version, wmTorrent v.3 supports: trackerless torrent, peer exchange, plain text and RC4 protocol encryption, consolidated or full file saving mode, http seeding, Unicode UTF-8, saving to file directly without temporary file, file format compatible with most desktop client and many more.

Pricing and Availability

wmTorrent v.3 is commercially available to OEMs and end users. wmTorrent v.3 is available in English language and is compatible with Windows Mobile Classic/Professional/Standard 5.x or later. All Windows Mobile screen resolutions are supported. A free, 5-day trial can be downloaded, or wmTorrent can be purchased for US$25.00 from www.wmTorrent.com

I'm not risking my SERO account by abusing bandwidth with torrents. Why not just VNC into the home computer and download from there?

Because my home computer happens to not be my phone :) Honestly, i use this app purely out of impatience. Also, at the moment, my cell phone IS my home internet connection, so there's that too.
