I think IRIS is a bit better, IMO, but it's only my opinion.

great scrolling, and I like the swipes to change tabs, but the rendering of pages is terrible, very promising though

I saw some rendering options under Settings.

I think it's pretty cool for being under 500k in size. I can't figure out how to change from WAP pages to viewing the full page though anyone?

It's got potential but it's not Opera :) But ya the swipes are cool.

Annd rotating the screen did the entire device, to left handed mode, I think I might use this as a rotate screen software lol.

Yeah I tried that but it would take me out of Wifi mode and make me connect to data. was a fun few minutes anyway.

Re: omg! excellent new browser for wm!

there is an option in settings on how to connect, just switch it to wifi only

i dunno if i missed something that everyone sees here but the rendering on this browser is horrible, the pages dont look rite and the overview is just a background color with lines as text.... defenetlly not a looker IMO

is there some setting that makes me see the greatness that everyone sees here?? i have the zoom option checked and not diggin it so far

ill stick with iris and opera mobile for now

Ok, after playing with it a few times I have come to a conclusion. Nope, it wont take Iris spot. lol. I switched to Iris a few weeks ago and overtook opera 9.5. For a moment I thought this new browser was going to knock operas knikers off! But after seeing how ppcgeeks looks under it, "BOOOOOO!!!". back to iris. I love the swipes or gestures ir whatever you wanna label it, but the rendering needs a fixing. But the speed of it does knock Iris out. I read that Opera 9.7 Turbo is essentially this browser in the way it works and the speed but with correct rendering. Also, the size is incredible. It worth the install just to get a sneek peak at opera 9.7 turbo.

I did a review yesterday for this browser, chock full of screenshots for those interested.

"UCWEB: Yet another browser for WM - but it's actually really good"

In short, it's a great replacement for Opera Mini users. It's not perfect (there is no perfect browser on WM--they all have pros and cons, in the end it is personal preference) but I actually prefer this due to speed, configuration options and all the functionality available.

It's not really fair to compare to Iris as that renders the web pretty literally--which is great for some things, but the con is that it is kinda slow, more difficult to just read an article and you have more work to do imo. That's why Opera Mobile 9.7 will be good as it'll basically combine that strengths of Mobile and Mini into one application. But for plain speed and specifically reformatted sites, UCWEB is pretty decent.
