TCPMP plugin for Flash video v0.4 released
It looks like a new version of the flash video (.flv) plugin for TCPMP was just recently released.
For those not in the know, it's a plugin designed to work with the great freeware media player TCPMP, that lets you play flash video files. It is designed for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 and higher. The plugin will never support the commercial successor to TCPMP CorePlayer (licensing issues). This version allows you to play flv files directly over the internet via the site http://www.mobytube.net/ which lets your search and play YouTube and Google Video files via a mobile browser such as Pocket Internet Explorer. I tried it out and it works great. 1.) For ease of use you should make sure TCPMP is associated with .m3u files. 2.) Then just visit http://www.mobytube.net/ with Pocket Internet Explorer (or Opera Mobile or other web browser that lets you download/launch files). 3.) Search for a video, once you find one you want to play, click on the video to download/launch the .m3u in TCPMP. 4.) Depending on your settings in TCPMP you might have to click the play button to start streaming the video. |
Hay, it works!pretty sweet!
Im new to TCPMP, theres two things i noted 1. Removing the taskbar and quiting the program means no task bar until you start the program and make it appear 2. It works with a raw frame buffer better than direct draw for me This is sooooo great, the only thing is id like more than just google and youtube support from moby, i also like veoh and etc. but great find |
Which one do I download and how do I install?
|
when i try to download the movie it gives me an error & i do have .m3u selected also this might be the prob when i try to install the tcpmpflv plugin it doesnt do anything even when i open it up on the pc it does nothing please help?????

You should first have TCPMP installed, download the Windows Mobile version from here:
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ Also, download/install any additional plugins you would like, though they're not required for playing back the flash videos. Then download tcpmpflvplugin-v0.4.zip from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=232906 Unzip and copy the files in inside the zip file into the folder (not in a subfolder under it) where you have TCPMP install on your PDA (on my device this folder is located in \Program Files\TCPMP). Make sure TCPMP is associated with .m3u files by : 1.) Starting TCPMP 2.) Taping on the "Options" menu item 3.) Choosing the "Settings" menu item 4.) Tapping on the "Select Page" button (lower right) 5.) Selecting the "File Associations" menu item. 6.) Selecting/Checking "M3U playlist files (M3U)" from the list. 7.) And then finally tapping the "OK" button. |
ok i tried all that and it gives me the error msg saying "error player:http//chiv299.chi.youtube.com/get_video? video_id=giQQiC80fDA Uknown file format! I'm really confused

Did you double check if the files "flvffmpeg.plg" and "flvsplitter.plg" are in your \Program files\TCPMP folder?
|
nevermind soft reset fixed everything thanks alot.....but one more question the video really lags do u guys know the correct settings for the player to have the video & speed up & also have it work in sync with the audio
|
Which model PDA do you have blackrain? The tweaks that are best for video playback are device dependent. Do a search for you model and TCPMP and you'll find the settings others are using that work best with your model.

i have the mogul ppc-6800......i was able to get everything going with the correct settings it just took me a while now is it possible to view ie nba tv clips through tcpmp or is that something that's impossible

Aight, I'm getting the "unknown file format" error. I tried soft reseting, checking all the file associated options including .m3u and reinstalling TCPMP player. Is anyone else having these issue. I can download the file, but I was able to play them earlier, but not now.

I reset it and everything, but I still can't get Youtube to work and Google video does not work now either.

@titan and gadget guy
dude you guys copy the extra files into the program directory? if theres still a problem, reinstall the app and recopy them back in (worked right away for me tho) and are you going to mobytube.com to get the videos? |
Aight I got mine working again. I had to uncheck every associated file except .m3u and it worked.
|
nvm I had did a hard reset (turned it off and on) and it worked. Thanks a lot. :)

This works great! thanks. One question though - how can I make it so Opera automatically goes to TCPMP instead of asking me to save or open the file? I know I should be editing opera.ini but I can't remember what the mime type should be for this stuff. Help?
edit: nevermind! I found it by actually reading the opera download window. It's audio/x-mpegurl. It works even better now. |
what settings did you use for the ppc 6800
