Does this kind of software exist?
 

Greetings. Im looking for a lock type app that'll lock a specific app while its running. For example, my 2 yr old daughter sometimes likes to watch Barney via slingbox on my touch pro. If i hand her the phone, it never fails that within 10 seconds she'll have touched the screen and either turned it (slingbox) off, or changed the channel. Is the anything available that could lock slingbox from being accessed unless a specific combination of hard keys are pressed? Like you'd have to press the home button, back button, and home again to unlock the touch screen features. I searched for this, but how im explaining it ddidnt find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated with some "thanks" :)

Thanks for responding and helping me look. To me, it seems like this possible software could exist, but it just seems tricky to search for. I think it would be a nice tool for any kind of media player. Thanks again for helping me search :)

No problem, it seems like there should be one out there some where already, i dont know how to make Roms and apps but damn it if i aint an OOOBER Googler, lol your right thought the keywords to put in for the search are kinda tricky cuz itll throw alot of stuff you dont need. our quest continues....

Maybe you could talk to the guy who made FTouchFlo. Seems like the same basic principle... intercepting touch screen presses. Only difference would be to ignore them instead of making it scroll.

i have just sent Efrost (creator of Ftouchflo) a PM and asked him if its possible, i also asked him to take a look at this thread, hopfully hell be able to give us a definitive answer on if itll be possible.

have you tried TouchLockPro? see what i have to say here http://ppc-repository.wikispaces.com...itory#option21

although its meant for something else, no reason why you can use it for what you need!

also on their page they link to more programs that do similar things.

Of course it is possible to make such application! :)

I'm not sure whether something like this already exists, but anyway, if you'll tell me how you want to control lock\unlock I can make it.

So, I need from you description of how you want to lock the screen (e.g. start an exe file assigned to a hardware button or something like this) and how you want to unlock the screen (e.g. press a hardware button for X seconds or something like this).

I think you should take a look at Sensor Lock. You would be able to load up Slingbox, lock the phone, hand it to your daughter and even if she touched the screen, she wouldn't be able to unlock it without making a specified gesture with the phone.

Hi guys. Thanks super much for all the help on this. Efrost, whst would be ideal for me is, any kind of exe to open the locking feature (i could put in the start menu) and maybe use the back arrow button, or a swipe down gesture to unlock the screen. That would be so awesome if you could develop something like that for me. I'd donate (pay) ya for the effort. Thanks very much to everyone that responded to my plea for help :) i got ya all with the thanks button.
