Thanks to the ppl at xda who figured this out.

Some people have trouble with this on the stock sprint ROM I have verified it working on mightymike 4.12, 4.13, and 4.14 Juicy 5-Notifications don't seem to work, but menu works. Some of you may not have been watching the threads as closely as I have been. So thought I'd share a way to get the TP2 Menus and Notifications on builds lower than 21000. All you need to do is dl this gwes.rar unzip the files into your windows folder, install the cabs, and soft reset. Everything works great:) Currently running it on mightyrom 4.13 with no problems. Enjoy. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3421/...3a6eec403c.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3295/...f658fc0c4e.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3652/...765c02e59f.jpg . . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491457 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491676 |

good lookin out bro, im sure this will help cooks alot.

Re: How to get TP2 Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
this fixes the 'cut off' issues as well? that's the only thing not working right for me
|
Re: How to get TP2 Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
not sure bout the BT cutoff issues. i don't use BT to connect to anything. computers, handsfree, radio :( but I think it should just give ppl running <21000 builds the same thing. i.e. doubt it'd fix any issues currently being experienced if you're already running this on a 21000+ build.

|
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
o will it work for example in qvga htc sprint touch..theres already versions for it
|
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Well I followed your instructions and now my stock sprint touch pro won't boot up. No joke. It is stuck on the Touch Pro screen with the red letters.
Can someone help me? This really REALLY sucks. I was JUST thinking how I got my touch pro exactly the way I liked it. |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds

Is anyone reporting success with a stock sprint rom? |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Well I did the hard restart. I'd like to thank No1ustad for this wonderful thread. I mean, I probably should have documented every little thing I did to get my phone to a point where I was, but I didn't. I didn't think a thread being thanked by so many would yield such horrible results for me.
No1ustad, you're parents never should have met (just kidding but not really. ) F***************************CK |

DONT TRY IT IF DONT WANT THE RISK OF HAVING TO DO A HARD RESET
...there you go :???::protest::protest::protest::protest: |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Is this stuff from the GSM version of the phone by any chance?
So two people now have had to hard reset after this. The op needs to change the first post asap. |

You should know better, before modifying files in your windows directory to back up. Especially because you said "I have my touch pro just the way I liked it" |

Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Sweet.
It works here. Running Mighty ROM 4.13, installed the cab from the link, moved the 2 files into Windows folder, reset my Touch Pro, and its doing its job now. Thanks. |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Thank You for notifying us i just seconds away from trying it
The Menu works fine and to be honest i dont need the notification as much it doesnt even have a Comm. to click on XBMOB days away from releasing i can wait until then |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Sorry fellas, not sure what the deal was, mebbe it has to do w/ the stock sprint ROMs.?..
Worked fine for me and apparently for many others as well running CDMA TPs.. Iduno, whenever I'm installing beta/ported software, I backup first.... |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
I can only get the Menu part to work. When I try to pull up notifications, the standard wm6 notification comes up. I am running Juicy 5 rom. I have tried reinstalling everything, but the notifications don't work.

Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds

Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
Now I have a silly question. In the pics it shows "T-Mobile". Will that show on ours to? Copied someones clock and the "T-Mobile" aggrevates me more than "Sprint".
|
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
no, it will not show tmobile.

Got it to work with Mighty's 4.13, awesome!
|
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
I'm also running MightyROM 4.13 on an Alltel TP, the menu works great, but no luck so far on the Notification, I texted myself as a test, but the default winmo notification still popped up...

I suppose it was a blessing in disguise. The phone is running much faster now, and the apps I reinstalled were the apps I used the most. There's like 60mb of space I got back from not having stuff on there I never use. I'll just stick with fingermenu and accept the fact that the stock sprint rom can't run these cool things :/ |

Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
It may have to do that the stock Sprint ROM runs on a 19xxx base, while most of the custom ROMs we use have a 20xxx base, and I suppose there's less difference between the 20xxx and 21xxx bases (which is where the GWES.exe comes from). That's why it breaks stock Sprint ROMs and works with custom ROMs...
just my two cents! :p |
Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
this looks awesome

Re: How to get TP2 (Rhodium) Notifications and Menus on <21000 builds
@miguel:
No...I tried both of the build you talked about but with the same result: MY DIAMOND STUCK ON BOOT SCREEN... :( - I really need a solution for this 'cause I think that the new Menu replacement is one of useful apps of theese months...but really think that my current rom (based on 1.93, sys build 20721) is really perfect for me - :( |
