i used the ota to update to 1.5.6 beta version like i said before, however now i have 2 cleanram icons an 2 cleanram config icons in my programs folder. i know its a pretty minor issue that i can easily solve myself but just wanted to point it out if you didnt know so already.

@redd, I installed an older version to try to reproduce that problem myself, but the auto update wouldn't work, the remote server was down. Maybe Ronen's up to something?

Using update service with OEM version
I guess you're using cleanRAM ROM build-in (oem version), if so you will be unable to use update service, because cleanRAM can't uninstall or overwrite OEM files so in this case cleanRAM will build a new installation to cleanRAM original folders in \Program Files\... and not like in OEM version to \Windows\... and this explain why you see two icons of cleanRAM after using Update service.

Yeah, I've heard it doesn't work as well for 6.5 ROMs. Hopefully either 6.5 won't need it (which I personally doubt) or ronenpg will write a port to 6.5 (which I believe he probably will)

Yes its working but not fully completely, until the final release of WM6.5 arrive I will not work on this operation system becuase its not stable yet.

Oh man, I feel like there's some hate in your heart. This app is definitely not useless, especially if you're a power user. I save 10mb all the time, and the scheduling feature is just plain amazing.

Admittedly it doesn't work as well on WM 6.5, but that's not Ronen's fault. Microsoft is finally stepping up to the plate, and doing a better job of inherently closing apps. This is a good sign for us all.

Don't know what you mean by not working. Yeah it doesn't reclaim as much ram when compared to WM 6.1, but it definitely does work, and works quite well.


Doc, you're right, it doesn't reclaim as much memory, but it still works just as well. I'm not sure if a 6.5 port is in order just yet, for the reason mentioned above and the fact that WM 6.5 does a better job itself. I've discussed this with Ronen before, and I believe that msft is just tightening up its OS. I'm pretty excited about the future of WM, and I think this is just a sign of good things to come.

Also, this app is definitely not useless. No matter how much better 6.5 is, cleanRAM will still save you a few soft resets.
