could not get it to install. said it does not have sufficient rights with TF3D off and installing from TC.

I had the same issue, turn off TF3D, reboot, then try again. It should work.

I don't want to sound rude but I believe HTC Album 2.5 is from the Touch HD and HTC Album 3.0 is from the Touch Pro 2.

There was a version of HTC Album 3.0 available but it was removed from downloading because of problems. Original thread:
