Memmaid Official Discussion Thread

Dinarsoft has release version 2.0 of Memmaid. They've got a fully functionaly 15 day trial you can download. For some reason I am unable to download it directly to my Treo and since I am at work it will have to wait until I get home. They are offering a 50% discount to current users. If you give them your e-mail address they verify it and e-mail you a coupon code. A couple of reviews I have read say that the update is outstanding.

shivers 07-11-2007 04:12 PM

I just d'loaded the 1.73 trial yesterday. guess I need to try out 2.0 now.

Malatesta 07-11-2007 04:13 PM

MemMaid is a great program. :thumbleft:

With the discount, it's $10 which is quite fair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Dang. Nice updates to 2.0.

The "Tweaks" section is very nice with an "Exterme Speed" (yes, it's misspelled in the app, lol) option. Indeed, my device feels much more jumpy now as it really changes some Mem settings. And many of you know, I do a lot of device optimization already...so they figured out some more tricks. :P

It's much like SKTools but I would say this has a nicer, simpler UI and you can do less damage.

Here are the History Changes:
Major new release

* New shiny look
* More than 25 New and Update cleaner items
* Enhanced Reclaim RAM module
* Cleaner Scheduling
* Full function registry editor
* Registry Import/Export
* Database manager
* Database Explorer
* Import/export databases
* Built-in context sensitive help
* CPU and Memory usage
* External card tools
* CAB Installer/uninstaller
* File type association
* Advanced notification manager
* System tweaks
* Applications cache mover
* Custom look and feel
* Enhanced DLL Optimizer
* QVGA-VGA Support
* Square, landscape and portrait Support
* Windows Mobile 6 (Professional and Classic) support.

shivers 07-11-2007 04:36 PM

The CAB for 2.0 was a bit bigger than 1.73. 901kb vs. 444kb respectively.

CozBoogie 07-11-2007 04:52 PM

I just dumped sktools from my 700wx in favor of MemMaid. And damn if it didn't free up some program and storage memory that SKTools couldn't. I'm sold.

Coz

I agree that $10 is more than fair for this app. I've used the latest version 1 release since March and even though I have no problems I upgraded for the new features.

Reako10 07-12-2007 01:08 AM

I tried it out for 20 mins. Sold.

Thanks for the reminder! The new features look sweet, I will be purchasing this later. :)

zshibli 07-12-2007 02:17 PM

$10 is fare, but still looking for a cracked version.

We shall have no discussion of that nature...please do not ask for cracks, keygens, warez, etc.

Im using version 1.73 which was built into the ROM I am using. If I installed the version 2 cab - will it stall as a separate version? will it attempt to update the older version I have on my ppc?

Big D5 07-12-2007 03:49 PM

WOW! what an upgrade have my copy

WanderingMinstrel 07-12-2007 03:55 PM

Best $10 software buy I ever made. This was a great program before. Now it's a GREAT program.

Reako10 07-13-2007 12:21 AM

Fablife,

Just as a precaution, just uninstall the current version (provided you still have your registration number) and install the 2.0 CAB. In this case you can try the new version, and if not impressed you can reinstall the older version and re-register. No harm done.

CHUFLY29 07-13-2007 01:23 AM

This new version is amazing. I love the new registry functions, system tweaker... oh my lord. It's an absolute steal at $10 (w/ upgrade code), hell it's still a steal at $20

Hayabusa1300cc 07-13-2007 11:53 AM

yeah I have 2.0 version full. It is amazing and really advanced over 1.73! Scheduling is awesome too! Also I UPXed it from 555k to 223k.

I was surfing around and found Softpedia (dot) com has MemMaid2.0 for $14.99 instead of $19.99

I wonder if it's legit.

MemMaid System Tweaks

Has anyone messed around with this? Just seeing what peoples reviews on this or advice on which settings actually help or hurt the speed/performance. I tried "extreme speed" and that totally messed the way my WM works. I'll try out the others but can anyone help me out with this? :study:

Lsme420 02-06-2008 08:31 PM

I use the Xstream speed one,,haha. Im not sure it makes a difference but it don't mess things up.MemMaid 2.1 (build 105)

I've played with them a few times...but I had problems too with my 700wx running WM5.

Glad to have this one back. It cleared up 47mb on my Touch... sweet

badchad 02-13-2008 10:14 PM

I use the extreme speed setting and haven't noticed much difference.

How would you guys compare Memmaid to SKtools? I have both but will probably use only one.

Re: Memmaid Official Discussion Thread

I am thinking of buying MemMaid program for my mogul. Currently I donot have any utility app. on my phone. My question is how difficult it is to use memmaid, does it run practically by itself and cleans up the programs every few days or do you manually have to use each function. The list of functions it can do are quite broad and intimidating for a noob like me. So I wanted other users opinion on this.

Also is there any free program available similar to memmaid?

thanks.

Re: Memmaid Official Discussion Thread

SKTools offers a never-ending demo which is very similar to MemMaid. There are only a few limitations with the demo.

MemMaid is very easy to use. You can set it to run automatically if you want or you can do it manually. It's all very easy to use....so don't feel intimidated at all.

And really something like MemMaid or SKTools is just something that every ppc owner should have on their device and use frequently.

late,
Coz

p.s....I hadn't run MemMaid for about a week on my 700wx and I just cleaned 300 items saving me 2446836 bytes.

Coz, I downloded the SKTools trial version. It says "only 6 entries in any list". I ran the cleanup function and same message shows up with 6 files showing up. I guess these are redundant files that need deleted. And then I should keep running the clean function till it cleans out everything right? That's what I did and the message comes up that "some files may not be able to be cleaned or deleted." and same 6 files keep showing up after I ran the app. a few times. AM I doing something wrong? Please help. Thanks.

Nope...you're doing it right. And yes, some files cannot be cleaned. Be sure to run stuff like "find dead short-cuts", "registry cleaner", etc.

Coz

Thanks coz. SO the only difference between the demo version and paid version is that paid version will cleanup everything at one click without the annoying message "only 6 files shown", if that is the only major diff then I will just stick with demo version.

CozBoogie 04-02-2008 01:45 PM

Re: Memmaid Official Discussion Thread

Yep....that's pretty much the only differnece. I stuck with the demo for about a year before I bought the full version. Between MemMaid and SKTools you'll have a clean and happy device and can pretty much tweak any aspect of your phone. Play around with SKTools "Tune Up" feature...it's pretty slick.

Coz
