Google maps autodater?

I just installed the Google mobile app on my Sprint Touch Pro and it told me there was an update available for Google maps, and it made me think. Is there anyway to check if an update is available other than going and installing the cab all over again? Like a check for updates button or something?

It depends on how the software is written. Some software automatically check for newer versions upon install. Some will have a setting in the program to go check for updates. Others do not and you just have to go to the software writer's web site to check youself.
