Windows Mobile Software Wishlist - 2009
I can't seem to find a thread like this anywhere so I hope my searching and trolling wasn't misguided or too lax...
With the announcement of the Windows Mobile App store I think my company will finally take the plunge into mobile software development. We've been on the fence about the idea for a long time and me being a hardcore PPC fan I wasn't looking forward to jumping ship and developing for the iPhone, Palm, or Blackberry initially. An App Store just makes marketing a lot easier for startups so that makes it a major attraction for us. With that being said... The reason for this thread is just the field ideas from the community as to what apps people would like to see developed and what kind of problems people face. The ultimate goal of software is to solve problems and to make us more productive in some manner. So share your hopes for what you want or a problem you have that you think can be fixed via software. Hopefully this thread can stay civil and possibly end up as a sticky. I think it would be useful for start up developers as well as the established developers like SPB Software House to see what kind of stuff we hope to have made. I'll update the initial post with the most popular suggestions so if you see one you like just chime in to add support for it. |

Re: Windows Mobile Software Wishlist - 2009
I've gotta say it..boo me if you wish. The selection of quality games available that utilize the g-sensor are almost non-existent. Tweeter, resco bubble, caver, gravity balls, ect, ect, are all good games, but not even close to what iphone has. Recent iphone and ipod commercials have had me drooling, and wishing we had access to the same level of games. Where are all the win-mobile games that use the g-sensor?

Thanks for the opportunity to put in software requests. The 1st one that comes to mind was brought up by another PPC Geek, asking for a screensaver slide show, here:

Back already w/2nd req: An MP3 app to run on PPC for editing ID3 tags. To be of value, it'd need to have ability to import cover art and embed JPG into tag. This was discussed in at least 2 previous threads, both covered here:

Re: Windows Mobile Software Wishlist - 2009
great idea on the request thread, winmo has a wide wariety of apps to choose from but the only thing that i dont like from winmo apps that makes android, and iphone apps more appealing is the form factor of the app, good ui, good graphics, and easy use. winmo apps look really outdated and the only apps that stand out are the ones that the developer actually takes the time to make it more eye appealing and finger friendly/attractive ui, that is after he makes sure it works well of course. in short my request for future apps wpuld be basic like, kinetic scrolling (no god aweful scroll bars), attractive ui (nice gfx) and finger friendliness (nuff said) if more developers do this, winmo would be more appealing and attractive to everyone
