LOL, yea the second half of the equation is the one that really counts. Unless a BU program will do a succesful full system restore 100% of the time it is pretty useless IMHO

Re: Spb, Resco, or Sprite Backup

I actually use a combo of SKTools to backup the main brunt of my PPC (non storage card, registry, db's ect), and spb backup also does a full backup of the unit as well. I WOULD use sktools to backup the entire thing, but i can't selectivly restore files, or selectivly backup files on the sd card.

I might give sprite backup a shot though. Can never be too careful.

Re: Spb, Resco, or Sprite Backup

For the record, just in case anyone is still wondering, Sprite Backup is some of the worst software engineering I've ever seen. It's buggy, it has virtually no error-checking, and it basically throws itself into a backup process on a wing and a prayer, hoping that it makes it to the end.

The kicker? I had several "successful" backups from Sprite stored on my Touch Pro memory card. I did a hard reset and tried to restore the latest, only to find that it wasn't a valid executable. None of them were. Sprite Backup TOLD me my data was safe, but was only leading me to believe it was so I could wipe all of my data and lose it all.

DO NOT BUY SPRITE BACKUP.

I've been using Sprite for years. Earlier versions were very buggy and I had some of the same results at the last poster, but since v6.x I've been happy and have had good results.
Not trying to argue, just noting an alternate observation.

I'm using Sprite and have restored a few times after hard reset with no problems. I've tried SPB before and it seems to take much longer for the backup process so I went with Sprite.

+1 for Sprite Backup. Great program especially if you like to flash a lot of ROMS.

I have had issues with Sprite, but SPB Backup has always worked great for me

SPB Backup worked fine on my 800W, but not on the TP or TP2. Sprite Backup is what I use on the TP and TP2 without any problems at all.

The version of SPB that I used on my Mogul wouldn't work right on the TP2, but I was a few revisions old. The new version is awesome, MUCH faster than before, and works on WM 6.5 too

I've used all 3 and I'd have to say Spb. It doesn't have as many features as Resco BUT it seemed to be more stable to me and got the job done better (especially restores).
