Remote desktop problem
I am using RDP to remotely access my vista PC, It works perfectly when I use my home Wifi connection, the same on which the PC is connected to, but when I try to access the computer from any other place, I get connection errors.
I guess it works on a local level, when I use the wi-fi from the modem the PC is connected to, i get in just fine. I have a port set up and all, am I using the wrong IP settings? Thanks |
Re: Remote desktop problem
Anybody using WM6 RDP?
I need some help setting it up For "computer" should I enter the computers IP address, gateway IP address, my modems WAN Ip address? and what are you guys entering under "domain"? Like I said in the first post, Im having problems connectiing from anywhere besides my home connection When I use my home's wi-fi, I connect fine using the computer's IP address |

3389 set to BOTH will do you up just fine. And you will need to access that via the main WAN IP |
Re: Remote desktop problem
I have port 3389 forwarded to my machine under TCP, I have tried connecting using my modems's WAN IP and local machine IP, doesnt seem to connect. I can connect to my slingbox just fine, I use my machines IP.

If you need to troubleshot, set your machine as the DMZ and make sure that your firewall on the machine is allowing outside connections. That might be a good place to start. |
