Good One-handed Keyboard for the Touch Pro?????

Just one thing I would like to add to my Touch Pro is a very good onscreen keyboard capable of texting one-handed. I love my hardware keyboard and prefer to use that, but sometimes its not a option. Not that the included keyboard in snot good, but I have fat fingers and and trying to text one-handed is impossible for me (especially while driving. lol)

Any ideas?

I suggest Resco or spb, they both have free trials, give them a shot

I tried it and never looked back. I hardly ever use the hardware keyboard anymore.

Resco and SPB are not really one handed. touchpal is?

Switch from qwerty to phone keypad and use t9

I use TouchPal 1 handed all the time.
You can switch from qwerty to phone keypad with T9.

TouchPal doesnt appear to be any better for one handed texting. Do I need a certain setup?

I use it for one thumb texting all the time. I use the setup that looks like the compact qwerty in portrait mode using T+.

Re: Good One-handed Keyboard for the Touch Pro?????

if its on the qwerty layout just hold your finger on one side of the keyboard and swipe all the way to the opposite side and it will change layouts, also if your in the config tab you can swipe left and right for more options.

I think I have tried every KB made at one time or another (including some of the really weird options like the Dasur setups)

TouchPal has a learning curve to it to really appreciate how good it is. I bet I installed & deleted it three times & could never see what people where raving about (I hated it really)

I kept seeing praise after praise for TouchPal however & people kept saying you need to use & learn all the ins & outs before deciding if you like it or not.

I finally decided to install TP again & really give it a chance this time. I installed it, read all the help files & worked through all the tutorials & then practiced with it for probably probably a week or more.

At that point, I realized what people where saying. Ever since I did that, I have not used a hardware KB once (in either my old titan or the newer TouchPro). I still have SPB full screen KB installed & use that occasionally when T+ is not an option, but I use TouchPal 99.9% of the time. I find that TP with T+ can be insanely fast for stuff like sms & the auto correction options are amazing (much better than any other option).

I used to have the same opinion as a lot of other posters, this other option (whatever it is) works fine so why bother trying anything else?? I sure am glad I gave TP a chance however.....

Thanks for the informative post. I've tried it several times myself and keep removing it. I'll read the help files and give it a couple of weeks tryout.

Another vote for TouchPal. After the learning curve, it's absolutely great. The word, sentence, and phrase shortcuts are awesome. Also two thumbs up for the TouchPal tech/customer support guys. No one else has ever answered my emails so fast.

Is there any way to make TouchPal the default after a reset?

Re: Good One-handed Keyboard for the Touch Pro?????

my vote goes out to shapewriter KB, similar to swype KB. Think of it as typing by connecting the letters. It's got a letter recognition rate of about 80% + when sliding with my sloppy fat thumb.

Well I dusted off Touchpal that I purchased a long time ago and like it much better now. Does anyone have a VGA skin for it. They seem to be pretty hard to find for a kb that is so popular.

80% is not very good really, something like TouchPro's auto-correct is much higher than that.

I've had the tp for 2 weeks now and never realized by touching twice on the keyboard at the bottom of the stock text screen it gives you different options than the full qwerty. Using the keypad with t9 is just like my old cell phones, sweet! Thanks everybody for pointing this out!

+1 for TouchPal. There is a new version coming very soon as well. I'm excited to see it as to what they will change or add.

resco keyboard is great. Anybody else notice it causes crash at bootup on the new wm 6.5 builds which requires hard reset to fix?
