PocketSat+

1 Attachment(s)
Features of PocketSat+ include:
  • Configurable to c
ompute satellite visibility from any location on Earth.
  • Track and plot real-time positions of up to 20 satellites simultaneously.
  • Map view shows satellite position and orbit track on an Earth map.
  • Sky view shows satellite position and path in the Sky.
  • Flexible application clock can be set to any date and time as well as clock rate, allowing "what happens when…" experiments. You can make time stand still or even go backwards if you wish. A single button press restores the clock to current system time.
  • "Pass" mode allows pre-calculation of satellites that will pass over a particular location during a given time span, including filters for minimum altitude and whether or not a satellite is lit by the Sun.
  • Uses full SGP4 and SDP4 orbit propagation algorithms, allowing accurate tracking of any satellite.

Yeah, I'll keep using the sattelites to track me. I don't need to track them for $25 either...

Why would you need this program to track satellites that are in geo- synchronous orbits? Just a thought

Might be handy for the local paranoid anarchist that does not want to be seen by the spy satellites

To give you the coordinates so you know where to aim your dish.

this would be handy to have for a carpc dish

Re: PocketSat+

no, this is worthless for commercial satellite services tv & internet. those satellites do not move. the pointing only changes if your location on earth changes, or you need to access a different sattelite.. it would be more for weather/spy/surveying sat's.

carpc dish is totally unfeasable and unsafe, but directv does have a slick car dish setup (but limited channels)

I just found the app and thought it seemed unique, I agree, it is rather worthless as far as being a functional utility. Sorry for wasting your time. I didn;t realize that it is now $25, there was a lite version before that was free, I thought...
