cab decoder
I have installed some cabs on my XV6800 that when i try to uninstall it says not all files were removed. Does anyone know of a program I can get that will scan a cab and tell me where all the extensions and installations went? thanks in advance.

Re: cab decoder
Go to remove programs, delete the program you want to, when told not all files were removed and asked if you want to remove the name from the program list click no. Then soft reset and re-install the same program. Check the list again and it'll be gone. Don't know why, but this has worked for me 9 out of 10 times.

Re: cab decoder
You should be able to use this program to see exactly what a particular cab does. http://www.codeppc.com/telechargemen...nf/msceinf.htm
The page is in French but there is an English version of the program along with a couple other languages at the bottom. |
Re: cab decoder
If it is so bad then hard reset after a back up

Re: cab decoder
The problem with CAB uninstallers is that if a user has changed any of he values, the uninstall will not remove those changed values, so you are left with a bunch of reg edits (especially with the cubes and cube editors out there) that can sometimes change the way your device functions.
In Windows on a PC you can unzip a CAB, and within the CAB is the "instruction list" for the CAB that you can open in notepad and see what all the CAB is doing. |
Re: cab decoder
open the cab in wince cab manager. it will show you the install paths of the files.
