Mr.Morton
Here is a great comparison side by side of Resco,Spb and Sprite. I know they all can do the job since I use all, it is just educational to use all and find out the little things that stand out

Very interesting article, thanks for posting that.

The thing for me is, there is one thing & one thing only that I care about in my BU software & that is this: The ability to restore the system to EXACTLY how it was when the BU file was created.

I have had both Sprite & SPB fail in this requirement at times (although both work perfectly most of the time) & I don't care one bit about anything else. I BU to a 16 gig card, so I could care less how big the files are. How long the process takes is immaterial also as long as I'm satisfied with the result.

I well remember the first restore I ever did with Sprite. The restore claimed it completed successfully & I restarted the system. When it got to the home screen, it was a hideous puke green color I had never seen before, all the icons where different & it looked absolutely nothing like it did when the BU was created...........

Re: Sprite backup

I hear you man, I am positive you are using the latest versions, that seems to help coz I never had the monster screen u described. So far I restored with all 3 and had no obvious prob or any. That is why I suppose I am looking at time to BU and other features. Resco will let you know if anything didnt back up correctly on the spot and gives you the option to update/correct the specific issue if there is one. I say test drive it and hit me back

As long as I get my info back I am good too.

When you do a restore, do you hard reset first??

That is what I always did with my Titan's, but with my Sprint TP converted to Verizon service doing a hard reset can sometimes cause problems...

Re: Sprite backup

No I do not hard reset, just str8 restore

Unrelated -
Note: One feature I like that goes under the radar is the "Safe mode" provided by I believe spb pocket plus, I can find out. Anytime your soft reset like 2 or 3 times within minutes, the system picks on that and gives you an option for "safe mode". Saved me once, I was able to just get in, uninstall what I did and move on w/o restore..

yea, that's a really nice feature. I'm suprised WM doesn't already have a safe mode.

I am tempted to install PP just for that feature alone.........

Re: Sprite backup

I think u might as well install it since it is very light on cpu and you can uncheck all other features if you dont want them.

The thing is, I don't own the program & I don't really want to buy it just for that one feature (even though it's a good one)
