Live Search for WM update version 4.0!

My previous version was 3.5.8198.0
My new version is 4.0.12158.1

The update didn't appear within Live Search under 'Client Update Available'. I had to go to wls.live.com in PIE to download it.

Just downloaded from PIE and now I got two live search in my program list :(

Not trying to steal any of your thunder with the other thread ... I usually check every couple of weeks and when I find an update, I post the links in the other thread.

The last three times I've come across an update, I do the above - only to discover that somebody else has already started a thread.

Most of the time this will happen when you have an application cooked into the ROM. In these instances, the application typically (but not always) is in the \Windows\ folder.

When you install an application from a cab file, it will typically (but again, not always) install to the \Program Files\ folder.

So, in this case, you have Windows Live Search in the \Windows\ folder and Windows Live Search in the \Program Files\ folder.

This is why, when I cook my roms, I NEVER include Windows Live Search, Windows Live or Google Maps in the ROM. I ALWAYS install these as part of User Configuration, because these three applications are updated frequently enough that I may want to uninstall the existing version in favor of a new version.
