If you want a plugin I would use Weather Panel. As a stand alone app I would use Weather Watcher:

Another app/plugin you can use is GPS today, which will update the forcast for your current location, but it's not very detailed:

Weather Panel is still far ahead of its time. The absolute best.

Is weather panel just a plugin or does it run as an app too?

I'm using TF3D, so I don't think it's going to help me any as a plugin, right?

Re: Weather Software ?

WP resides on your today screen. That is the only way to access it. And someone with a bit more intel on TF3D may be able to answer your question.

Not only is WP the most comprehensive, it's customizable (as far as themes go) and best of all FREE!! I've attached the .cab for your weather tracking enjoyment

One more for Weather Panel 2009. I like that I can set up several cities and be able to auto rotate them. Plus It has been at least as accurate as my local weathermen. Notice I said at least.

I actually really like Weather Watcher, but it's broken if you have Opera 9.5 installed.

It doesn't appears as if the author is optimistic for a fix.

True, but can select in Opera's options to not have it be the default browser? I'm using Iris Browser and I was having that problem so I unchecked the "make default browser" box. Now it works just fine. I can't remember if you can do that in Opera or not.

I don't know. I have a newer opera installed over the ROM opera and the new one says it's not the default browser and it still doesn't work.

There's a few people in the thread I linked having the same problem as well.

Hopefully, he'll find a fix.

Do what I do & run weather panel from a second today screen. I do that & it opens full screen almost instantly & works perfectly.

You can see the WP option as the right soft button:

Thats one thing I really love about WeatherPanel: the ability to add all kinds of radar maps and traffic cams. That feature is priceless.

I've used WP for ages and love the radar but don't know nuthin' 'bout no traffic cams. Could you give me a jumpstart? Do you need to know URLs to add to the Weather Images dialog? How would I get going for, say, the Chicago area?

I think the quide in this thread may have some info in it. I can't remember exactly how to do it because it's been forever since I've set it up.

You can add any jpg or gif image to WP for display. Just get the url, enter into WP and you're good to go.

For Chicago I'd start with the Department of Transportation. The state sites usually post weather/traffic cam links. Also just run a Google search for "Chicago traffic cams".

I use PocketWeather myself, as it can take a current weather map, then superimpose current conditions at airports and such on it, (just like on tv ;) My main issue with it has been a lack of support for animated icons... Note that it takes a while to set up if you really want to take advantage of the features...

That said, I love WeatherPanel too...

Yes, you need the URL's. Do a Google search for traffic cams in your area. When you find one you want, right click on the traffic image & go to properties & copy the URL.

You can then paste that URL into WP under weather images after clicking edit on your particular city.

+1 for pocket weather. The Weather console portion of PW can be run as a separate app and has the most info. Can also do radar and other images. Need to spend time configuring but by far the most comprehensive. I use Weather Console with TF3D as a separate app
