SeeqPod Mobile - free until Dec. 21
 

SeeqPod Mobile is being offered free until December 21. Normally its $9.95. If you've never used SeeqPod, it's basically a search engine for mp3s. When you get a hit on a song title, the song will play in the application (streamed). It's pretty handy when you are thinking of a song and want to hear it right away.

The mobile app looks pretty interesting - they load up regularly updated playlists for you automatically.

Ok, question for you all. I think their offer can be read 2 different ways. Is it free for all who sign-up before the 21st, and never have to pay? Or is it free for all until the 21st, then we have to pay? Anyone know for sure?

guys load up the iris browser and go to seeqpod.com. you get the iphone version of the website but it downloads the mp3 to your phone it is AWESOME! probably should have mentioned this before! :)

I read it as meaning that if you download it before the 21st, you're golden. I did read through their FAQ and one of the questions deals with cost and they state it is free. I really couldn't see how they could charge for it anyway, as it just seems to be a really slick search engine that can stream.

Don't get me wrong, it is SUPER COOL! Really neat to think of a song, and as long as it's "playable" somewhere in cyberspace, you can play it instantly. I actually went and registered on their site and created my own little "podlist" which is pretty cool too.

All in all, very slick app.

Music playback is a bit choppy sounding. Also, while it works on WQVGA (Omnia) the player sizes for QVGA, leaving the desktop showing through in the bottom portion of the screen.

This is a rant, and I apologize in advance. :D

What are you guys smoking? lol. This app is useless. At least on my TP. It crashes nearly constantly, the times it doesn't crash it uses between 10 and 20 MB of RAM while not even playing anything. And when it does run, it keeps asking me to purchase songs instead of just playing them.

I noticed some of their "playlists" work alright. So here's a test for anyone that's bored. Search for "let it rock" as in the song by Kevin Rudolf. I've tried every playlist and every song on the first page, all either immediately crash SeeqPod, or cause an unrecoverable system hang.

Am I doing something wrong?

That's pretty funny that it locks up with that song. I tried about 20 other songs and had no problems. Tried this "Let It Rock" song and it skips from one to the other on the playlist and then locks my phone too.

I have found that it crashes, is slow and ugly. It is useless for me as well

I reach a certain point in each song where it won't buffer anymore. does anyone have this same problem?

Same here, but it works fine if i use activesync and use the computer's connection instead of EVDO on the Diamond (which then makes it completely useless)

I also believe it crashes all too often.

Did not work for me. I downloaded from website and program will not even open. 2 reboots and reinstall did not work. I am running WM6.1 on a HTC Titan.:(:(:(:(

LIAR! jus playin homie... I am having an issue tho, songs aren't playin to their fullest, only about 80% then switches to next song... its like the Touch Pro Pandora Plague!!!!!

I found out I was using the wrong install. Thought my phone could handle the higher resolution. Works fine now, that is if you want to listen to one or two songs. After one or two songs I get a Microsoft error. Some songs are not the complete songs.

Have downloaded this to both my Vogue and my Touch Pro should mention you can create your own custom playlist and as long as you don't play any others or delete it, it stays on your application. Goodbye Sprint Music Store!

No other way? :???: I can only listen using the speaker at work. The Mogul had a program that would turn off the screen but not put the phone to sleep. Would something like that work here? Does something like that exist for the Diamond?

I can't get this to work on my 800w. It won't even start up. I see the screen flicker for a second and then nothing. I check the task manager and don't see it listed with any of the other applications.

So far, so good... Slightly better quality than Pandora... Tends to lock up if the connection is lost (or it can't find the file it is looking for?)

Got an email from them mentioning the update. I was thinking it was something new, but i've had this version since the jan 22. Regardless, love the seeqpod app!! Its nice to find darn near any song i can think of, plus some :)

The new version is flawless so far! I love it. If you tried it before and didn't like it, give it another chance. (No, I'm not affilated with this program/website)
