s2u2 Question...
 

Keep in mind...I am a total noob to the ppc scene...

I was thinking about installing s2u2 onto my omnia. But, I noticed something and wanted to ask someone who might know the answer if I am correct.

I noticed is a few videos and screen shots of s2u2 that it looks like it is just a program running overtop of the today screen; i.e. different wallpaper and no notifications. Is that correct?

On the omnia, you can lock the device and it still shows the entire today screen, including any missed calls, emails, or texts. It's all the same, just the screen is disabled.

Can s2u2 be customized to where it just imposes itself onto the Today screen without it running like a separate program? I don't want to have to unlock the phone just to see if I have missed anything.

just install it and try it out. It is easy to customize and uninstall. If you don't like it, take it off. No harm will be done. It shows missed calls, texts ,events tasks and emails. It might show more. It is a pretty cool app.

S2U2 is VERY customizable, almost every aspect can be changed!!! You can have it notify you of missed calls, SMS, MMS, email, IM's and tasks. It shows you last call for a little while if you took a call while locked (with the length of the call) and not only the number of missed calls, but the name of the caller. You can intigrate it with his other two apps S2P and S2V to get quite a nice setup!!!!

I am having an issue with S2U2...

I was using it in conjunction with gyrator 2 on my HTC Touch Pro. Then, I realized that since Gyrator 2 has a built in screen locking option, sometimes I would have to unlock my screen twice.

The S2U2 readme had a note about disabling screen rotation programs so they wouldn't work while using S2U2, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make Gyrator live in harmony with S2U2?

see my reply there. basically you want to disable all events in gyrator then add the events for the apps you do want.

to specifically stop gyrator from locking the screen, remove the stylus in event

Is there a way to change the slider from going left to right to right to left?

anyone using s2u2, please look into usind s2p, it plays music in combo. with screen locked and off. hit power button and you can change songs with screen locked and album art is on s2u2. also the latest s2p works with gsensor, shake the phone to change song. also s2u2 has a killer volume control that most people dont use and its great. ill post some screenshots of s2p and the volume control if anyone isnt sure about the look of both.
