The "old' version is in the ROM so there is no way to remove it unless you do a custom ROM, which has not been done yet for the 6700.

My prediction: if this hits Gold soon it might be included in a new ROM update from Sprint, in which case that will completely replace the "old" Messenger with the new Live version.

That's the plan though in the long run: all new WM5 devices (probably with AKU 3+) will have Windows Live built in, much like MSN Messenger is there now.

I did find that you can successfully use UPX4PPC to cut in half the size of Live Messenger, so that helps save space and makes the program load even faster.

i can only get as far as it checking my internet connection, but it always fails. has anyone else experienced that? i currently have the Treo 700wx
