I thought this was kinda cool. I like that it shows a full calender view right on the Today screen. Found it at 1800pocketpc.com.

A simple today plugin which displays the date and a mini calendar on the today screen. Its a very handy plugin. One issue is that its in Russian so some of us might not be able to use it, but with this trick you can change the language to English.

• Fire up your favorite Registry editor ( or get a free one here )
• Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ Software/Bronenos/MiniMonth/
• Change the value of the key English to 1
• Reboot

cool, does that clock come with it? and are there any nice options like making the calendar bigger?

Here's what it looks like running on my 800w. But, I also have RealVGA installed, so I don't know if it'll look different on devices w/o RealVGA installed or on VGA devices.

You don't actually have to do a soft reset to get the language to change, just wait a few minutes and it'll change on its own after the reg edit. To get to the options screen tap and hold in the area between on the month and year. I couldn't figure out where exactly but its in that general vicinity. My only problem with this app right now is that I can't get the clock to open the 'Clocks and Alarms' settings. And there's not option to increase the size of the calendar.

If you want to have the "clocks and alarms" come up when you tap the clock go to the same registry and put in \Windows\CLOCK.EXE where it says clock(you should be overwriting where it says /windows/timemanager.exe).
Now i have a question how do you make it 12hr instead of 24 hr?

oh man, i cant believe i didnt see that. thanks for the tip! and as far as the 12/24 hour setting...i dont have a clue. i'm assuming u looked in the registry for it since thats how u helped me. thats not really that big of deal for me though. i'll do some research and see what i can come up with.

The clock was way to small to see on my 640x480 VGA Diamond. So I did a little editing and now it is readable.

The hour minute seperator is fixed. I took a screenshot before I was done.

Changed all the graphics over to VGA. Working on Piscel Browser to VGA now.

If you want to get to the menu, you tap the 2008 Nov middle section. That brings up the simple menu system. If you turn on user days, then you can hold and select a date from the calendar on the right, and input an event. If you select an empty space of the plugin, like below the "2008 Nov" section, you can use the dpad to scroll the calendar ahead and back by one month increments. To return to the current month, just press the center dpad button. Very simple, and very nice.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't experimented with the user's day selection yet so this is very helpful. I'm very surprised and pleased with this little today plugin.

If I could become a member of this 4pda.ru site, I could bring a LOT of updates to this program here. I tried for over an hour last night to sign up, but I cannot get around the Russian Captcha thing. They have updates in the forum for this program that update the calendar with your outlook events and appointments. They have a all sorts of different themes for the clock. Several different builds of this same program.

Also, the program has a file, Days.txt in the program files folder. This is meant to hold holidays or birthdays or any day you want to show up on your calendar. I cannot figure out the format though. Need to get on that 4pda.ru forum.

UGH, those freaking russians. Who puts a math problem as their captcha. Finally figured it out. I will have a GIANT post coming up soon with all of the cool features of this program, all of the different builds and lots of different options for it. I'll post it sometime tonight.

The developer of the program stopped developing it apparently several months ago, so its been up to everyone over at 4pda.ru to kind of pick of the slack. They have asked about moving the Sunday to the first day of the week as well, I havent seen a response to that yet.

Thanks for the reply... Ultimately a deal breaker for me. I love the concept and utility but just could not get used to the non-traditional month listing....

So I registered at 4pda.ru, only took about 30 minutes, and found some more info on this nifty little app. I translated the page using Google Translate and then changed it a bit myself to make it easier to understand.

Some menu items are on RUSSIAN !

But that should not stop you from using it. To change the color scheme just tap at the left side of the big clock at the empty space to get the menu with the color changer.

To change to the next month, just slide with your finger above the calendar numbers left or right.
