iContact 0.2 released...
"iContact is a simple contacts applications for your Windows Mobile device which will help you scroll your contact list in iPhone style by sliding down your finger in the screen"
I haven't had a chance to try this yet, but it looks pretty slick... http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...tact-v0-2.html Edit: Whoops, forgot the URL |

It's a nice little app but was not enough to get me excited. Often times I am hitting the contact instead of scrolling up/down. I attached the cab file if anyone wants to try it.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to comment on the iContacts... The interface is quite nice and slick. It does everything it says on the box. I do have 1 problem with it tho... There is no close button to close the app. I can only send it to the backgroud by pressing the hardware button (call hang up button) and it does not show up in wbar. Every subsequent time I open it, I noticed that my memory is getting less and less although the in built memory manager shows only 1 instance of the app running. It would really be cool if the developers can include a way to close the app without using the in built memeory manager to terminate it forcibly and if there isn't a memory leak (I think). Just my 2 cents worth. |
Mine had an x on the upper right hand corner. I am sure yours should be the same.

I havent tried version 0.2, but I didnt see it say that he added the feature I want most. To be able to wrap from the top to the bottom. I can only scroll downwards, and it takes forever to get to the end of my contacts.

This app came from xda-developers. You can go there and there are many other "test" versions that add certain features such as an alphabet on the side to jump to a certain letter and graphics additions.
Also, it was designed to minimize and not close to keep the app running in memory for quicker opening. |

When vBar is running, it "blocks" the x leaving me unable to find it. But as you know, it is still running in the background. If I leave it to run in the background, I noticed my program memory getting less and less. Both my battery status plug-in and my vBar shows my program memory reducing from the usual 24Mb or 22Mb down to less than 9Mb over time (2-3 hours). I don't know if there should be something I did wrong (or did not do) that would have prevented it. I'm still a ppc noob. |
