Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
I just downloaded this file (.msi) from my phone's browser by hitting "Open". Now I'm not sure what happened to the file because it says it's downloaded but nothing changed since then. I closed Opera and everything else but I can't seem to find where the file is. I guess it isn't downloaded to my storage card since I didn't "save". Anyone please help me with this?
Also, do I need to activesync to install a .msi file? Can I just do the same thing that I do with a .cab file which is drop it on my storage card and open it? Thanks... |
Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
msi is the for installing from your PC. You will want the cabbed version if you want to install from your phone.

Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
if you got the msi one, install it on your comp while you phone is synced up to it, or you will need to download the cab to you phone an install.

Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
Hi, I'm trying to install this on my touch pro. I've downloaded the zip file and unzipped it and moved the folder into the phone. I tried opening it in the phone through the file folders but it opens up an opera window and does nothing.
Please help, how do I install this? TIA |
Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
I tried installing the .NET CF 3.5 cab and got an error saying to stop all apps and processes and run again. So I stopped everything, even TF3D and still got the same message. I did a search and noticed others had the same problem with .NET CF 3.5 but I did't find a solution. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I can install .net CF 3.5, but after installation, my phone is not stable any more, even voice is not clear. Does anybody else has same issue?

Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
It looks like you are opening the cab file on your PC. (it's in .zip format) You need to copy the cab file to your phone, then click on that file in file manager (or Total Commander) on your phone to run the install. Let me know if you want more info (step by step)

Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
OK - do you have a PC with Active Sync that you connect the phone to?
|
Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
yes i do

Re: Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
OK.
Connect your phone to the PC with the USB cable. Open windows file explorer. Your phone will show in file explorer as 'My Windows Mobile Device'. (Go to 'My Computer' if you don't see it). You want to copy the cab file from where it is on your PC to a folder on 'My Windows Mobile Device'. What you are seeing initially in explorer is basically 'My Documents'. You can either use a folder here, or if you want to copy to your storage card, double click 'My Windows Mobile Device' - which is basically the equivalent of bringing you to the C:\ of the phone. You will see 'Storage Card' as one of the folders. Once the cab file is on your phone, you can disconnect from your PC. Now open file explorer on the phone. (I believe it was set up on the Touch Pro by default in the Programs tab 'grid', but if not, just open 'All Programs' and scroll to 'File Explorer'.) Now navigate to the folder where you copied the cab. Click (or double click) the cab file and it will start, asking if you want to install to the device or storage card. Install the dotnet framework to the device. That should be all you need to do. There is a really good tutorial about installing cab files (with screen shots) at http://www.pocketpccentral.net/help/...l_cab_file.htm. Let me know if you have more questions. |
