Pocket Informant and Flexmail 2007
Has anyone had experience with the latest Pocket Informant and latest Flexmail?
I am trying to determine if both these applications are worthwhile. I have used Pocket Informant in the past and found some lag in the performance of the device. I am using HTC P4000 (HTC Titan) that has Qualcomm dual core processor. From a functionality standpoint, both applications provide you with a closer experience to Outlook 2003/07 than Pocket Outlook. The issue I am trying to resolve in my mind is potential performance hits (performance lag, use of memory, stability etc). I hope someone who is using both applications would provide some input. Also, another question related to Flexmail, will it work with push email solutions like Visto? Dave  |
This is totally a non-technical response but I am using both from main memory and haven't noticed any performance problems or stability issues. They both use quite a bit of memory but for the features that I get it is worth it. But I don't leave either of them running in the background and the memory hit has not caused me any problems. I recommend joining the forums and getting the latest beta/release candidate versions. I have both and they are pretty stable.
Flexmail caused some problems for alot of people in the past. They have aggressively been working to improve those and the current version in my experience has been darn good. Not familiar with Visto but someone in WebIS's forums may be able to answer that. |
