Google Web search with My Location

Came across this today and it's pretty cool. I searched and couldn't find anyone mentioning it. If they did sorry.

Just install and when you visit google.com from your phone it knows where you are at and searches near you.

Looks good, but it appears there's a good number of PPC's that are not supported. The Tilt, Touch and Sprint Mogul (but not VZW VX6800) look like they're the only ones that will work

it's not entirely accurate; I'm in Ohio, and it would say that I am in Chicago. so it could be a hit and miss situation.

Re: Google Web search with My Location

if u use PIE. have ur cookies turned on. just go to google.com.search for something with ur zip code after it. click search. the next time u use google it will say below the search boc ur city, state.

maybe u have to do it a few times. i know it used to work. I would goto google.com and it would say my city below the search box until i cleared my cookies. and it was google.com not google.com/something

update. i they changed it. if u do what i said above they do still save it in the cookies. but, after u search for what u want u need to click 'local' on the search listing page. this is just a fix incase ur phone is not supported. good find presidentstu
