Swype gesture keyboard

Ok. I was pretty set on the Touch Pro, but then this came out today:

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/09/09...ed-data-entry/

Now I'm debating myself. It would appear I could probably type faster, and all things considered, I probably used the keyboard "rarely" on my PPC6700. A keyboard is way nice to have, but only because it was the fastest and most reliable way to get text entered. The softkeys on iPhone and Winmo gave me wrong letters too often to be able to get any speed going.

WOW gotta admit that thats pretty cool :headbang:. BUT theres no way that thats faster than a physical keyboard or even an on-screen keyboard. its a great thing to show off to friends as a novelty at best. i dont see myself swiping at letters to form words and having that be faster. most ppl that are use to texting on a device with a physical keyboard are speed deamons and multi taskers.. its a good try but no practical :angry7:

I am a big soft keyboard fan but this one does not impress me. Maybe there's something better that will come out than this to have glass typing faster.

That is DEFINITELY an AWESOME concept! I bet its a bit difficult to do it without a stylus, but nonetheless I WANT IT!

Nice find!

I agree with you 100%. At first I was like damn, thats pretty cool but its actually pretty slow compared to how I use my keyboard on my mogul. There is no way someone would be able to out type me using that thing.

all i'll say is that it's innovative and has potential... i'd give it a shot just to enjoy the novelty for a while.

Read about it in the techcrunch52 coverage, and watched the video from cnet. Nice app; want to play with in person before making a decision though.

Yeah it would be nice if they had something out to play with right now, but I'm sure you'll be able to test it first. To me it just looks like it will make sending quick texts or short emails a lot easier. Not too sure I would like it for anything longer than a few words.
