Just stumbled across this and loaded it onto my 700wx. Will play around a bit with it. Adding new feeds seems quite easy. I've thrown in some screen shots.

I have had this app for about a month I think? Anyways it works real well with P Breeze, but with WAD (Wisbar Advance Desktop) if you scroll down on a feed it jumbles the letters. Almost as if were slurred? Other than that great app it even allow customization like WeatherPanel but no one had made a skin yet to my knowledge. (Hint Hint!)

some question:

- how to create a theme? I opened the files.npl and changed somethings, but I don't able to change the green top bar: how can I cange or remove o set it to transparent?

- scroll function works only in details mode?

- How to set the delay of the scroller?

- How to set the update frequency?

Maybe the square screen don't show me this option on the bottom? (like weatherPanel)

a one-handed support woulb be appreciate ;)

maybe Storyr can realized it....

[EDIT] Ok, I found the vertical bar to scroll the setting screen opening by Setting/personal/today.

I also saw it is a beta... ;)

How about this idea? I just downloaded NewsPanel myself, and I do like the looks, and the possibilities, but I do not like the idea of scrolling down my Today page so much (I also use pic speed dial, pocket Plus, and WeatherPanel). I use WeatherPanel with the tabs screen.

OK....here is the idea.....If I knew enough about programing I would try, but would it be possible to incorporate NewsPanel into one of the tabs used in the tabs skin on WeatherPanel? I think that would be an awesome combination!!!

Keep in mind, this is from Marsware, where there is no support. If you uninstall Newspanel and you have Weather Panel, they will both be uninstalled and you will have to reinstall Weather Panel.

Well...that is kinda flukey....isn't it? That is OK though...I have it installed on my memory card, and will just keep it de-activated on my Today page....it is not taking any noticeable memory that way. (I am glad someone told me that though....could have been a rude shock, I just got WP the way I like it). Has anybody see TimePanel? I heard of it, but can't find it anywhere.

TimePanel is in the same place cozboogie got newspanel from. The Marsware website. If you are a registered owner of WeatherPanel it allows you to download it

Unfortunately, I am not a registered owner (I know....I really should). Untill I do register though....is it a program worth getting, or just a 'space taker'?

I was trying to attach it but I overlooked that I cannot attach rar, so I zipped it.

I would love to try it out. I appreciate you telling me about WP uninstalling with NewsPanel. It took me forever to get WP working correctly (moon phases, maps, themes......) I would have been quite upset if that happened!!! Thanks for the heads up!!! Is Timepanel the same way? I am going to try it out tonight!!

Haven't used TimePanel in ages. Why don't you look at RLToday, way better program and much more customizable.

I agree with Catman...rlToday is very customizable...(as shown in my screen shot)...

This is actually a very old app. I had this about a year ago. It looked really nice with WeatherPanel above or below as well. Unfortunately, it killed my 6700. I'm sure it was this program, because when I had gotten my next 6700, the first proggy I put on was WeatherPanel, and the EXACT same things happened...

- Constant Freezing
- Forced Hard Resets

This happened over the span of two separate 6700's. All I'm saying is be careful...

You mean NewsPanel was the first program you put on?

I've been using NewsPanel for about 6 months now and have had zero problems with it.

Just be careful with NewsPanel, when you uninstall it, it takes WeatherPanel out with it and you have to reinstall WPanel.

Does anyone know how to change the font color in newspanel? I swear that when I installed it, the main text color was white and now it is black. I dont think that text would be considered today screen text (ui tweaker). Thanks.

If I remeber correctly the scripts are very similar to WeatherPanel scripts, so open the layout with a text editor and you should find in the text commands the color info in R-G-B format. You can edit those numbers to use whatever color you want. It is quite likely though that it is using "TODAY" which uses the default today screen text for the theme you are using.

As Ken said the scripts are very similar to WP. I've easily changed font colors, etc.
