Reclaim Memory: Oxios Memory v1.40

Oxios Memory v1.40

FREE

Bascially this program does two things:

1) free's up resouces

2) it can close all running processes/programs in the background to give more memory

The fancy explanation is this:

Oxios CloseApps closes down other applications by sending "Close" messages.

WM_HIBERNATE is a window message that is generated by the Windows operating system and sent to an application when system resources are running low. All applications should get the message and handle it by attempting to release as many resources as possible by unloading processes, destroying windows, or freeing up as much local storage as possible without damaging the internal state of the system. Oxios Hibernate sends WM_HIBERNATE to all applications.

It works very well with the 6700. This type of program is also found in the new version of MemMaid (1.72) and SKTools and I consider it a great tool to have.

You are amazing Mal.

Where did you get all the good stuff from? (I could imagine what your phone looks like, a Toyota Camry with a Lambro' engine.)

Malatesta 08-02-2006 05:04 PM

eh, most of it I find on general ppc sites, freeware sites, personal tech blogs, developer forums, word-of-mouth, etc. It's really more luck and lots of reading than anything.

My phone? actually, I keep it pretty simple but it does run very well, with little to no problems, lockups etc. and it's still speedy.

I locked Big 5's duplicate topic and linked it here.

well, this does way less than MemMaid which also "cleans up" old files, temp files, registry stuff, etc.

This program frees "Program Memory" (think RAM)--that's it. MemMaid has this feature built in so if you have that it is probably redundant to have this as well.

and thanks BigD5 & ajk511!!

This is a nice little app. It's free and appears to free up more memory than memaid or sktools does.

wiinex 08-08-2007 12:39 AM

eck.. i made a "post reply" about this app. works really good with 6800

tvith 08-09-2007 05:31 PM

If i'm not mistaken... this only helps w/ the Program Memory but not the Storage Memory, right?

It got deleted.

Just go here: http://www.oxios.com/memory/

Anyone have the 1.3 version without the Info Screen? I know there was either an old version w/o it or a hacked 1.4....
