Well, I finally got around to installing Rudeo's MCE controller on my 6700. I have to say that it is pretty sweet. I can control my Media Center PC from my 6700 from anywhere on my Wifi network. This may not seem like much, but think about this:
Load up an old PC with MCE and all of your music. Now, connect the PC to an old receiver\amplifier and run that to speakers throughout your home and even outside. Now you can be sitting on the back deck enjoying a warm summer evening listening to your favorite music. The kicker here is that the PC can be located you your basement, closet, etc. and you can control everything with your phone. http://www.rudeo.com/mce.htm |
see thats wht im talking about, thats awesome. and thanks for the link aswell. and mostimportantly thanksfor the roms colonel

I mean almost everything for the ppc is cool but for some reason I like to be more complicated that I need to be. stuff like that is what I would like to see more of. I think I'm going to set up my house like colonol said. I like nevo remote the universal remote software. I have it and its a sweet idea but I never use it because u have to be close to the tv.

Also - is it possible to use it with a PC with has vanilla XP professional and not the MCE ? |
I have to admit I get some good use out of the Novii remote at my local bar, often I can get 10-12 foot range (I know I shouldn't) but even drunk at the bar I can tell 3 from 12 :) ..

k000, not even sure what the router is set at. I guess I should probably look.
I believe you need MCE for that particular product, but you may be able to get it to work. I say this because I can launch MC and WMP on the PC. I start using Rudeo and I can them close MC and still control WMP with the phone. I am saying that it is improbable, but worth a shot. There are also two other apps that Rudeo makes that you could check out. http://www.rudeo.com/playctrl.htm http://www.rudeo.com/wmp.htm |
Yeah, I can't wait for Rudeo to support Vista. Vista's MCE is so much better than XP's. I used Rudeo until I switched to Vista beta, and would love to go back to using it again!

hey
I use sallingclicker.com also lets you control pc not media center but wmp and Itunes powerpoint as well as letting your touch screen be your mouse on pc. plus it shows your caller I'd on pc screen from phone via bluetooth or wifi. also you can write custom scripts to tweak it more. ;)

I'd say my nerdiest app is Logmein and the ability to control my PC via my phone. If you go to www.logmein.com with PIE, it will give you the option to download and install the program (which is a .dll).
Surprisingly, it's come in handy a few times when I wasn't near a computer but needed to email a document to a coworker. Not super easy on such a small screen, but still works! |

ok, here we go.. Not only do I enjoy things with alot of buttons and things I really dont ned, but I do a bit of ethical hacking in the neigborhood.. I go to the neighbors house who has a unencrypted network and help them to become secure (Or i use printboy and print to their printer to convience them they need to be secure).
Heres another App I like since I am the "Family IT". Real VNC. this is a 400k ish file i store on the storage card of my 6700. I also use the registered version of the vista skin for the ppc6700. Both files are located in my post (not the registered version (s) though). VNC is FREE. |

I've used Real VNC for quite some time on my PCs, neat app.
