Missing "phone.ink" file
 

:(](*,)Hi y'all,

This is my first time posting please forgive if this is the wrong place to post for help. I have a XV6800 (verizon) and for some reason this morning I was not able to bring up the dialer screen to make a call...later found out after searching the web that I am missing the "phone.ink" file. The file is supposed to be in: windows\start menu\programs\phone.ink.

Hopefully some one can help by posting the file. Thanks in advance.

Start with a soft reset. If that doesn't help then maybe someone will post up the file.

I tried several soft reset already. Hope someone would be kind enough to post the file here so I don't have to do a hard reset.

I'm assuming that the file is phone specific. That is you need a 6800 phone.ink file and not one from a 6700, etc.?

Additionally, if it's in your Windows/Start Menu/Programs/ isn't that going to just be a short cut?

Yes, my phone is XV6800 and I don't know if the phone.ink is phone specific or not. I guess I can give it a try with the 6700 since it's close enough to the 6800. Thanks....

Did you back up data on your desktop. If so you can sync the phone and it wil put it back on there If not you should be able to put any dialer on there and then soft reset I use the Manilla/Black english version. Yu can get link from PPCgeeks or if you have google You can google htc dialers and download link from there

Coz, the phone.ink is not just a shortcut.
